The Judgement Hammer
As a new user I am astounded to see how much internal strife there is on the platform. I wanted to take the opportunity to make a mention about it here on the blockchain.
Now firstoff, it is easy to see that my account is new and that I am a newcomer here. So what I can offer is an unbiased point of view on the matter. I may be a nobody on Steemit, but I am not considered to be an idiot in real life.
So what is all the fuss about? Steemit politics? Flagwars? Abuse of power from the rich?
Up and down the levels of power there seems to be some people who just get into each other's hair and when they do, things can turn very ugly. Is this necessary?
Without getting involved in each and every case, what I can say that what I see is that the conflict inflicts negative posts, downvotes and spam on the different parties and potentially more and more people get involved in on the issue as people end up picking sides.
There is no mediation and no end to these conflicts until someone decides to leave and rage-quit... because leaving peacefully would be seen as cowardice.
Solutions?
Can there be a fair way on Steemit to help people to resolve their differences? It is a wonderful platform that is there for Blogging and content creation.
Yet this economy is being destroyed by the fights and the spam. Nobody from the outside will get involved in this platform by the large degree if the platform is filled with this nonsense.
I tried to get someone involved on Steemit the other day, someone who I knew blogs and who I had not seen in a while. All they said to me was: "Steemit is shit"
I thought about it, it cannot be be economy, the platform or any of those things. The only negative thing I see is the way people behave on the platform.
I would like to consider a way to improve this platform because it has so much potential.
Answers?
Now I know that the chances of people seeing, reading and responding to this post is very low because I am invisible on the platform in the form of my power, but who knows?
I would be glad if people, anyone really, would join in on this conversation.

Oh, I can confirm there are indeed legitimate problems with the platform. My irl job is in software, so I know a thing or two about proper software development practices. They screwed up a lot of things with their most recent deployment of the latest version. It locked me out for a full two days, and that would not be as bad if it was the first time in recent history that a major outage had occurred.
Stability and reliability is important for an online service, as is actual usability. There are many nuances to the platform that simply aren't obvious nor are easy to find out for newbies. Steemit is still being refined, and I'm still cautiously hopeful they will get their act together, but the platform is far from perfect.
