No time... Homeless…

Life sometimes spins in only a moment! Very shortly after putting my home on the market, multiple offers were received and while I will leave all the drama for a future post, we will soon be without a home. What has been interesting is that the market to find a rental for the moment is very limited so time is now against us to find something we want for at least a year!

We have done from looking for a longer term rental to now consider some short term options which come with the added challenge of finding storage for all of our belongings! To say the least, we are pretty overwhelmed with how quickly things have moved over the last couple of weeks. The house is filled with boxes with my to do list of additional considerations growing by the day.

I do not recall the process of moving being so intense although I had done only a couple of years ago and that was moving from a longer distance. Luckily, most processes seem to have online capabilities to handle like many of the utilities we need to transfer. I am hoping that many of those issues will be easier although some will likely incur in early termination penalties because of the contracts involved; however, a step forward will be to get out of these at the same time.

Excuse the short post once again but life always gets in the way. At least it provides with more content to share as experiences continue to pile on to my list of ways to learn from these processes. Real Estate is truly not for me as it is so geographically focused and despite strong markets, the details are astounding when considered. Hopefully, I will be able to find a place in the coming weeks!

Hope everything is going OK for you? Having to move house is always tough and selling yours never easy. I wouldn't like to move back I to the rental market from owning my house. Its carnage out there.

All is good, thanks! It was a voluntary (but crazy) decision to be more flexible in the future and get one step closer to becoming debt free!

That's good.

Wouldn't be my decision but you've always had a plan to be financially dependent so best of luck with it I hope it works out the way you want it to. As long as it's all part of the big plan then great.

Hey mi amigo,
I don't get it???? Why would you be selling your house, without a ready to move in option in place???
Trust me, you don't want to put your family through the horrors of having to settle for whatever shitty option available for rent!!!
Why are you selling your house in the first place??? You got a new job in another state or city? Whatever is the reason for your actions,
My advise to you is to get a new place to live comfortably with your family first, before selling your old place.
Cheers

Taking a risk to be more flexible but in a way we are upgrading as the homes we are looking at are bigger and more conveniently located. The difference is we will be renting instead of buying. I have a negative view of home ownership at the moment and while I may be wrong, I have a good balance sheet to take the risk. Short term headache that I hope will pay off longer term. Also, I did get a pretty good price on our home!

Hmmmm!!!!!, From where I come from, nothing beats having your own house/home.
No matter how small or beatdown it might look like. At the end of the day, it still belongs to you and your family.
Besides, it is the wish of every father to live a good legacy behind for his children.
Your house that you built or bought belongs to you and your family forever. There is great peace that comes with living in your own property!!!l trust me, I know.
Your children will bless you Everytime they realized that you have something solid on ground they will call theirs.
Make your small house your dream mansion that is 100% yours.
Cheers
