Gran poeta y dramaturgo alemán de ideología marxista del siglo XX, creador del llamado teatro épico. Ésta técnica se basa en el distanciamiento a través de la práctica de ciertos postulados escénicos y actorales con el objetivo de crear un espacio de reflexión y crítica entre el espectador y la representación alejándolos de la identificación emocional y garantizando el entendimiento y la confrontación con problemas sociales.
