Hi @alpha
I see that you have been targeting users on inleo and downvoting leo threads lately. It hasn't effected me personally but it has created a lot of bad feeling and is confusing a lot of the newer users that have been onboarded.
I'm wondering if their is a specific reason for the down votes or if it is just due to short form getting rewards??
I would appreciate if you could give me an more info on the subject as it is leaving a sour taste in the community and is creating a negative effect.
Thanks.
My guess is it's related to the Bid-Bot System u will definitly remember from Steemit Times.
I remember them well from back in the day. There were lots of them going for a while but i was only a tiny account back then.
Not sure how that relates to people threading and the alpha account wiping all rewards from their threads. There is no bid bot system over there afaik.
They do specifically upvote content on inleo but so do the team at peakd for snaps to keep people active.
The bot is canceling leo.voter votes, it doesn't wipe out other rewards. So if it is "wiping all rewards" as you claim below in your other comment, then that would indicate that is the only voter on the comment. As to why, it's because I'm opposed to pay-per-vote schemes in Hive.
Thanks for replying.
First of all I agree with your negative view on pay for votes. I've been here for 8 years and have seen a lot from the early days.
As far as I can see their is no pay for votes scheme in the Leo threads section. They are using leo voter to reward the people writing and commenting through the inleo site and with premium membership their is a better chance of receiving votes through curation but that is manual curation. No different to splinterlands curating splinterlands posts or peakd rewarding snaps with a payout.
It seems to be one rule for one and not the rest as far as i can make out. There is a lstr.voter that is auto.voting holders but that is a separate project albeit linked to the leo team.
I know from years of experience how much drama and controversy is caused by downvoting and it's the smaller users and hive/leo community that suffer when we see these actions.
As a tiny blockchain with a tiny userbase it just feels to me that we should all be working to grow together rather than alienate other groups. Leo is one of only two apps on the whole chain that is bringing in external revenue to offset our failing token price and is also onboarding in larger numbers than almost any other app on hive.
Working together or towards a common goal is always better than fighting over a few pennies. Look at the money being drained from the chain by the DHF every week and see how a few votes compares to that.
I would respectfully ask that you try to find a better way to get your point across about paying for votes which is a relevant point. And I know that Khal is not always the easiest character to talk to as he throws strops when these things happen but if we want hive to succeed then it will take everybody to get over themselves and look at the bigger picture.
Changes can be made to any of these issues but I would hate to see us lose even more users or apps over silly arguments.
You just described Pay per vote?! 🤔
Nope.
Pay for vote would be me paying premium and getting a guaranteed daily vote in return.
I pay for premium and get extra features on their site. I get more options to use when threading and blogging. My posts are more visible to their curation team but that does not get me an upvote.
As I show above I have received just three votes on my posts in the past 25 days (3/8) and i got a couple of those $1 votes on my threads that everybody is so worked up about maybe another three. Those are all from creating content and engagement, manually given and earned from my activity.
That is far from a bought vote for doing nothing or spamming the chain.
I can pay for promotion on ecency or peakd as well for a higher chance of getting noticed and voted but leo premium is actually about more features and benefits and is part of an proper business model that brings revenue into the eco-system and gives the LEO token value. An approach that every app on the chain needs to look at and stop trying to get all of their revenue from the DHF. That would make a lot more sense to me.
Please show where pay for vote is happening. We have the same pay for visibility that other platforms on Hive have.
If there is a standard, we are happy (and already doing so) to follow it. Make it a standard and not single out one platform
