As promised in the last post, I decided to do a RECAP SERIES and give you much more insight into what I've been up to in the last 2 months. I hope you enjoy!
As you know, the @appics tour started in Dubai where my team and I attended two conferences:
1. Finovate
2. World Blockchain and Token Summit
However because the conferences were a few days apart, we had some time in between to explore Dubai and we took full advantage!
Let’s start with the probably most obvious activity you simply have to do when visiting Dubai:
City above the clouds
Visiting Burj Khalifa
World's tallest building. A living wonder. Stunning work of art. Incomparable feat of engineering. Burj Khalifa is all that. In concept and execution, Burj Khalifa has no peer.
More than just the world's tallest building, Burj Khalifa is an unprecedented example of international cooperation, symbolic beacon of progress, and an emblem of the new, dynamic and prosperous Middle East.
The Burj Khalifa is stunning to first of all look at from the bottom, the architecture incredible. On a cloudy day you can see the building going through the clouds.

Most nights we sat in a restaurant in front of the Burj Khalifa and enjoyed the daily water and light shows. It’s great as entertainment during dinner, very impressive and demonstrates the pride of Dubai and its rulers.
Finally we decided to get tickets to go up to the top of the Burj Khalifa ..
...and get the stunning view over the city. We wanted to catch the golden hour and go up before the sun rises, to catch the best light.. for which we got up at 4.30 AM and walked from our hotel to the Burj Khalifa at 5 AM.
Getting up there was also quite an experience as you get taken through the history of the Burj Khalifa and there are some amazing animations in the entrance
When we got to the top ..
...we hoped to catch a beautiful sunrise, but sadly it was a cloudy day and so the city was covered by fog and you could barely see at first.
When the sky cleared up a little we still enjoyed the view, but it was a little disappointing, since we got up extra early. Oh well, maybe next time. Still it was somehow magical sitting there above the clouds watching night turn into day..
On our way back we ..
...stopped for some pictures. Btw. for those of you who've been to Dubai before you will know that it is nearly impossible to get a picture just by yourself in front of the famous "Dubai" sign, however at 6 in the morning anything is possible as the city is sleeping and the building workers are just getting done (they work over night because of the heat).

Visiting Emirate Towers - Future Accelerator
At one of the conferences we met a friendly guy who invited us to his workspace. He was surprised we didn't know about the location, since we're in the "Fintech Startups/Innovation/Blockchain space" and the Dubai Future Accelerators are the place to be! It's where the smartest minds come together to create the future. Besides really cool co-working spaces, you can find anything from VR to AI, Robots and more!

Dining in Dubai
When it comes to the food, Dubai was literally heaven for me. I don’t know about you, but I adore Lebanese food.. Hummus, Falafel, Fattoush!
Here are my top 3 Restaurant Recommendations:
1. Biker’s House
Fresh Watermelon juice is my fave. My number one breakfast/lunch spot!
2. Zaroob
A cool, urban restaurant with the best Lebanese food. Perfect for lunch!
3. Karamna
This is probably my favourite spot for deserts, shisha and tea in the evening!
And the best desert awards goes toooo....
THIS! I forgot the name, but if you ever happen to be in Dubai just show them this picture and thank me later!
And let's not forget Parker's! Located in: The Dubai Mall
Known for being Dubai's secret spots; diners will first have to track down one of several 'golden keys' hidden throughout town. No Key - No Food!
Luckily we got in through a local who had a key and I must say it was delicious!
Oh and that same day @thehipsterguru had fun dressing as a local..
.. and we drove around the city "like locals do" ^
Overall I can say Dubai was an amazing start to the @appics tour and is definitely worth visiting, whether for business and/or for fun.

I thought your description of the trip to Dubai was very good.
Some photos caught my attention. The picture in which there are several very high buildings and clouds partially covering them is enchanting. I've never seen anything like this before. Another is the photo of the food, where it has hihihih meat. Meat is always very welcome.
It is good to see travel posts to this type of place, because here in Brazil, it is very rare to hear about this country or any other near to it, let alone travel to know it. With your text, another place is located to know.

I'm glad you enjoyed this blogpost. I have to disappoint you about the meat, I'm actually Vegetarian and I'm not sure where you see meat. Anyway, Brazil is a place I've never been to and very badly want to visit. I'd love to learn more, so maybe you can put together a post about it. Best wishes :)

@mrs.steemit, That's fantastic travel experience in Dubai. You stayed lot of times in Dubai with busy conference. I'm glad to see your beautiful photography today morning to me. Burj Khalifa is marvelous city and you given life experience via animation gifs. building going through the clouds most amazing and invisible to mine. You're on the top taken marvelous visualization. I've seen real romantic view at night and evening time at Dubai Burj Khalifa. It's fantastic experience to life. Fly kissing buildings most of there. I'm totally attractive this post. Final image most prefer to me.

Dubai is 2nd largest city of United Arab Emirates located in Middle East Asia. It is a very famous harbor, business point tourist point.
Dubai is a city devolving amazingly in last three decades. In starting it depends on oil and fish export but they have changed their self as amazing city. There are lots of things which are unique in Dubai.

Dubai looks so amazing. It's been on my bucketlist of places to visit for the longest time. The Burj Khalifa looks stunning especially. I can't wait to see it in person.

Nice trip of dubai. I am happy to that you did enjoy there and met lot's of friend. This are best and beautiful life moment . Which is come only some and special time. I would like to see out of india but still i didn't see anywhere. This post inspring me to visit out of india.
Thanks! and never stop dreaming. If you believe you want to travel to places in the world plan it out, envision it and it will happen. I actually can't wait to visit India again! I've only been there once and it is such a beautiful country with a lot of culture and nature especcialy in the south, like Kerala.

Omg this dessert looks out of this world :
I love baklava and similar desserts, especially the ones with the super thin noodly pastry. Dubai sure seemed like lots of fun! Really need to check it out some time soon.
Yes it's sooo good! But the pistachio one is out of this world! It's definitely worth a visit
The best thing you can do while in Dubai is to go on a jeep safari in the desert. It is not very expensive and it usually includes dinner in a specially prepared camp in the desert, a show with belly and poi dancers, locally made hookah. It is totally worth doing it. The ride with the jeep on the dunes is like a rollercoaster and the adrenaline is depending on how "crazy" your driver is. We had the craziest one and I loved it. If you need more adventure after that you can try sandboarding. It is cool but unless you have a private jeep to drive you uphill you get very tired on the second run. I climbed a small dune near the camp three times and decided it is easier to walk on snow than on the sliding sand and gave up.
Crazy you say that because it's exactly what we did on our last visit (the post is linked). It was by far one of the best experiences I've ever had. We had locals take us to the desert at night, cooked dinner and we were watching the stars, climbing on top of the dunes and had some wild rollercoaster rides there and back. Awesome you experiences this as well and just brought back memories :)
It is always very hot in Dubai and the humidity makes it even worse. Luckily, the locals realized the climate disadvantage and built places where you can stay inside and do things. Don't imagine just normal shopping centers - it is more like a city connected to the subway and everything else, so there is no reason to go outside at all. There were aquariums, small cities, ski slopes, ice rinks and all other crazy stuff you can put inside of a building. The subway is conveniently connected with those attractions and you can use it to travel around.
Well I guess it depends on the month. Right now it's really that hot, but when we were there we could comfortably walk around the city all day with nice sunshine (not too hot) and it even got chilly at night. So I recommend coming before the heat wave (November-February)
Dubai was a wonderful adventure for you. You were kept busy and your photographs were exceptional. San Fransisco should be a treat as well. You have wonderful taste in cars! Thanks @mrs.steemit for sharing all the photos!

Yes for sure. The reasons are actually in the post from the amazing attractions, to the food to the desert. It's worth visiting at least once
