It is outside for me to see a true face of the wall.
I could not see the wall when I was inside the wall.
It is said often that the only outsiders or strangers could see the problem.
To look at the wall in detail I need to go out.
There I could see people living along the wall
There was a road from inside to outside. The wall was removed as much as a road.
Where the wall was removed. I can see the scars made by people
The wall was magnificent. I wondered how they had moved that much stones to here. The mountain from where people had taken the stone was far from here. Besides they had built the wall on the hill and mountain
The wall was long enough to enjoy hiking. The scenary was awesome.
The road for tracking was well prepared, so it was very convenient to walk along the wall.
The wall had been constructed and fixed for long time. So it was interesting to enjoy the shape and patters of the wall
The left, center and right of the wall had been built at different times.
Sometimes I could find the roots of trees on the wall.
Some stones have been crushed by the wind and the rain with flowing of time.
So I finished first section of tracking.
Its like time travelling into ancient Seoul :)
Something there is that doesn't love a wall,
That sends the frozen-ground-swell under it,
And spills the upper boulders in the sun;
And makes gaps even two can pass abreast.

Your Great Wall of Seoul is being undermined by tree roots, water and wind, @slowwalker, and yet it endures. Each generation mends it, because, "good fences make good neighbours", but ultimately a wall is there to keep some people in and others out.
Your wall in the modern era is mainly symbolic and part of the character of Seoul - the link to its glorious past.
The photos today are particularly striking, my friend, and the depict each step of your trek along the wall, unhampered by houses and dense population. You can truly see the wall as it is, along with its ancient foundations.
Outsiders can see a lovely fortress wall with window openings and parapets and observe the way it twists and turns and dips and rises following the hilly terrain. I too wondered at the task of erecting a great wall under such circumstances. It is quite an achievement, as was this post, @slowwalker.
Beautiful work!
Nice post. I love Seoul. Seeing the city walls in your article, I remember the K-drama "Queen In-hyun's Man". I fell in love with Seoul after that drama lol.
how do you travel so much
I am jealous
I'm just amazed by the shapes and patterns of the wall @slowwalker! The people who built it was real artist and had so much knowledge! And it is still standing there! Wow!
Lovely as usual!
Thank you!
@progressivechef
It would be really interesting to see all these walls by myself because it feels like it's simply not enough to just look at the photos :)
The wall seems like it goes on forever.
At least there is so much history and diverse culture that surrounds it as you keep following it.
There is definitely some beautiful scenery. Great Shots @slowwalker
Another truly enthralling and captivating post
so is this a wall for a fort or something else?
Great walk you've had there! I like the pics, good that you paid attention to the details! thumps up!
That was unfortunate that a part of the wall was removed. But at least most of the walls are preserved. And the roads are more safer to travel.
Nice Pictures!
wow. such a lovely historical monument. great post.. thanks
Seoul is a freaking awesome country. You have some nice shoot that i love. The scenery is stunning. Thanks for sharing these beautiful pictures with the steemit community.
This is similar to English castle walls - where they still survive, sometimes they are quite big.
A very interesting report @slowwalker, it seems that the walls have been rehabilitated a lot. Is that so?
What happened there earlier so that the wall was created?
Wow, great wall man, I wanna travel like you :(
Excellent post. Thanks for Share!
Good reportage, thanks.
Was this wall around all of the old city or just a part of it with a castle?
Thank you @slowwalker for showing us Seoul from another perspective. It is nice to see that remains from the past haven't been completely wiped out by modern architecture.
Wow! Very beautiful photos. I like
Resteem

Those walls look like a fortress. How long it took your people to complete it? It's massive base on your photos.
