Tombs in the crater in CheJoo Island

As turning to the other side, I could see the area looked like a crater.
There was no explanation about that area, but it looked like as same as a crater.
It has round area looked like exploded crater, but the hall was not so deep like that of Sangumburi.

So people could walk around plain area.

But if not the volcano explosion, the round form of area would be impossible.

But my interesting is not about the crater, what made me interesting was the tombs there.
The tombs made me feel strange.

I felt lonely there.

The Tombs were scattered in that area.

Tombs were surrounded by the wall of rocks to protect the tombs against wind.

Wind is very notorious in Chejoo island.
So, they had to protect everything from wind. They made walls for the cultivated land, house and even tombs.

When taking the photos, something made me think what death and living is.

People were enjoying their lives taking the photos near the tombs.
It is the life. Death and living are not apart.
Death and living is one thing that has two faces

I like the mention of death as being two-faced. That's a beautiful photographic storytelling by slowwalker. Without these story, I wouldn't have known that an island by name Chejoo exists. Its amazing the design of nature.

Protection from the wind is a great consciousness that keeps the people in that area in check as they cant overlook tiny details even in their personal lives.

Seems to me that the population in Chejoo Island is rather slim to be accommodated by these few tombs or are there tombs apart from these ones?

Anyone who loves nature and craves its touch should actually take a positive swipe at Chejoo Island and plan for a vacation there.

Great job, Slowwalker!

Hermoso lugar!!! Gracias por compartir.

The pictures of your post have been great, but your travel is very good

Quite a huge necropolis, it must have some ancient significance. Did you care to find out?

We have one similar place in my country, its called the Fountain of the Nymphs. This really reminds me of that.

when I looked at the picture of tombs, I felt like there is a historical war movie is going to start :) Anyway it really looks strange that you are looking a tomb and there is a dead inside.. Yeah this is life..

looks very beautiful, I really like your post @slowwalker

Death and living are not apart.
Death and living is one thing that has two faces.great sentences , i agree with you

Yes the place looks like a crater formed by a volcanic eruption. But I am also surprised by the grave that is there. Is there history with the owner of the grave ?. I want to know more deeply @slowwalker.

What a fantastic island with a small mountain..

I have been away from the internet for a couple weeks. Keep up the good work! Thanks for your helpful post. wait for your reply...

Wow still on chejoo. But who wants to leave chejoo island.
The winds are really very notorious The neatly stacked rocks are ancient tombs, which makes this place even more interesting. There was a couple who were doing their pre-wedding photoshoot inside the graveyard. They even stepped on the tombs. It was definitely a bit weird but it made beautiful pictures so… haha.
Along the sidewalk there were a few gazebos and swings. I’d say the place is for you to enjoy nature and unwind. Koreans are into these things, physical and mental health. If you’re looking for a place to destress, this is definitely the place to go.
If you’re going to Jeju, make sure to visit this place. It wasn’t crowded when we went, as it is said to be one of the hidden gems of Jeju.
Ahh, I wanna go to this place again.
As for your last statement in this post, it was a thought for the rest of the weekend.

Very beutiful place thanks for information @slowwalker

cheJoo island is great @slowwalker. I like your post very much.

Lately, I've heard a lot about CheJoo Island that I have a wish to see it, in person.
Those tombs are soo mysterious...

what a tombs it was, photography was superb,

very quiet. the tombs very large. very old tomb.

The place is perfect and the tree becomes the absolute protagonist of the landscape .. Fantastic

That is one eerie island. Those headstones surely give the creeps.
