ULOG - Weekly Thoughts - 12 Apr 21 - 18 Apr 21 - Homesteading This Week...

Good Morning, Hive-ians! 😊

The Pigeons don’t care what type of weather we have, they always come by, some even accompany me on my morning food distribution walk, like this pair above that flew along with me and then circled back around a couple times while I spread out the food. 😊

Our Black-eyed Junco population has increased quite a bit this week, they’re very skittish still, so it’s hard to get a great shot of them, but I’ll keep trying, until I get a nice one this will have to do. 😊

There was a lot of decluttering here this week; whatever was useable was offered to our children or to the town donation center, but I also threw out anything that was damaged/broken too, it feels so good to have it leaving, like each load is a little weight/stress lifted off of me and I’m looking forward to the end when our basement becomes just that again, a basement. 😊

I started refilling our garbage cans again after the garbage man emptied them on Tuesday. 😊

By the end of Wednesday’s cleaning spree, I’d refilled all our cans and was overflowing with extra bags, but it looked good to me. 😊

I started on the other side of the room on Thursday. 😊

Some of our Pigeons, Blackbirds and Red-winged Blackbirds stopping in for a snack. 😊

We had incredibly happy chickens working in our garden this week, they did a fantastic job too. 😊

Shift change for the Pigeons, time for the next group to get a bite to eat. 😊

We had some really lovely sunsets this week, I love the colours in this shot. 😊

Our handsome bull Prince waiting impatiently for his mom to finish eating. 😊

All our feathered friends, no matter which type, love our apple trees. 😊

Friday night is pizza night here on our homestead and thanks to the lovely and talented Stacie D’s (@freedomtowrite) recipe for pizza dough it is always perfection. 😊

We woke up to this on Saturday, thankfully it stopped by mid-morning and was melted again by noon, just in time for my bonding time with our daughter-in-law. 😊

Well, that was our week here. How is/was yours? I hope you have had an awesome week! 😊

I'm so glad the pizza crust turns out great each time! I understand about the decluttering...unwanted belongings can be extremely stressful. We sometimes don't even realize until they start leaving!

Welcome back lovely lady! 😊 Thanks for visiting! 😊

It really does, we haven't had one that we haven't liked, some have been thin and some thick, just depended on how long we let it rise before I put the toppings on, all have been yummy and we've thoroughly enjoyed them all! 😊

That is so true, It has helped me a lot. 😊 I've felt more relaxed with each load that I've dropped at the donation center, our sons place or at the curb to be hauled away and I'm looking forward to everything having a place of its own when I'm all done too. 😊

I'd rather see someone use something then it just gaining dust/cobwebs in my basement anyway, so its a win-win with each load that leaves. and we're thinking of painting a tic/tac/toe board, a hopscotch board and a little track on the basement floor for our grandchildren to play on when they come over too, so extra bonus of clearing more space, longer/bigger track/area to play on for them. 😊

I can't imagine you'd have much to declutter after being nomadic for so long, but I wouldn't be surprised if you found one or two things that y 'all would be willing to part with if you thought about it really hard. 😊 LOL! 😊

God bless you and your wonderful family. 😊 Have an awesome day my fabulous friend! 😊

That sounds like a wonderful idea for your grandkids! You are right, we don't have much right now, but once upon a time we had enough to fill a 2200 sq ft house plus a garage haha Right now we have inherited a house full of life and memories. We are slowly making our way through and just took a trailer full to a donation center. It was amazing to be able to pass along what can still be used!

I know exactly what you mean. It feels good to be able to pass things on to someone that will be able to use them. I don't like wasting things by putting them in a landfill when I can just give them away and they can be used by someone that will appreciate them. 😊

I must still wait to do my decluttering. I'm not doing it twice...

Welcome back lovely lady! 😊 Thanks for visiting! 😊

I hear you there and don't blame you at all, its a lot of work, but it feels great though, better and better as each thing leaves the house, at least that's how it is for us. 😊

It's a nice project for the winter months when you're stuck inside and your gardens are all covered in snow, good luck with it. 😊

God bless you and your wonderful family. 😊 Have an awesome day my fabulous friend! 😊
