Keep it simple

Hello!

We all want to have more, but we forget that everything has a cost, and it's not just the primary cost of buying it, even free things cost you something. It's important to identify that cost and see if you really want to pay that. Take a supersport car for example. Even if you won one by chance, (so no cost for buying) it cost a lot to maintain it. And sometimes it's not just money, it's your attention, time and focus. A nice and fine suit, requires more more attention, it occupies a part of your mind, you can't carelessly sit somewhere or start running.

These were just simple examples to make my point, I can go on and on with examples, but the point is, we we go beyond our actual needs, we tend to fill our homes with beautiful and shiny trash that we never use, but we always have to take care of. Don't get me wrong, a piece of art on the wall, or an old vase in the corner is not necessarily excess, but we have too much things that we barely will recognize the loss of them, it means they're not necessary.

But why we like them? Why we want to have them? Why I want to have all the photography/videography related tools that I know I don't need most of?
Probably part of it is because of corporate advertising. They want us to buy more, so they try to make you think your life sucks with out their product. Another thing is it's easier to buy things and feel better than actually try to gain some inner success and become a better and stronger person. You buy something, you feel good immediately, but it takes time to feel good on your own, by exercising or making an art. But the problem is that the joy won't last long, so you fall in the loop.

We are all guilty of this behavior, looking for the instant gratification, but there gotta be a way out of it, Do you know any of them?
