No posted signs and wide open, but I was not wanting to do much more than walk around the outside and poke my head in to capture a few images and then be able to run if necessary. It had a super-creepy vibe going on.
And you never know what (or who) could be lurking inside.
In fact, while walking the outside perimeter, a huge bird (I'm talking turkey-vulture huge) flew out of a gaping hole in the soffit and scared me half to death!
But, it's also sad to imagine what (likely) unfortunate circumstance would cause a family to move out and leave many of their possessions behind. I suppose it's not the material things that really matter anyways.
There was a for-sale sign on the adjacent property, but not sure if this house was part of the deal? It would need a LOT of work.

It looks like someone left this house in a hurry. Maybe there could be supernatural power living that scared the family and caused them to leave the house. It just what I can imagine by watching the current situation of the house.
They have left everything behind and this thing is giving us the idea that there was something who was making them scared!

Wow yeah that's really creepy, especially with that bird flying out! Good pictures, but maybe you were in a bit of a rush due to the aura of the place?
Not sure who would want to buy it... Maybe it's already been forgotten about... Might as well tear it down and rebuild from scratch, make sure no surprises like fat birds lurking inside

This place does seem really creepy. Interesting that it still have furniture in it and belongings. Someone washed dishes, put them in the drainer and then abandoned the place. Such a sad house. I wonder what happened to the last owners.
I am always so curious about these buildings and the stories behind them too.
If I was you I'd just have to contact the agent an ask if the sale of the adjacent property included this one, just on the off change that they might know the story behind it! 😁

I was thinking that too as I looked through the photos. I mean who would leave their toilet?? lol. Seriously though there is probably a very sad story that goes with this.
Your photos are really good, I loved the wrought iron horse and buggy decal on the door - it reminds me of one we had when I was younger.
Is that mold on the white table cloth? Healthy living at its best.!!
I guess you're braver than I am. I don't think I would have gone inside. It looks like someone could be crashing there, but it's hard to tell. And it is strange that so many things were left. I'm curious what happened as well. Although, I might not want to know.
