I normally use pics, and cool formatting -and all that. But this post doesn't need ANY of that. You'll see why as you read.
I know we were challenged to write about something that we WOULD do, but instead - I'm going to write about something that actually happened.
Not many people can claim that they have actually MET people online - let alone @galenkp - but.... I did!
I didn't meet him alone either, but we SWORE to keep the names protected from the public. He and I decided that THIS weekend would be the weekend that we actually made some of this public. So, yes, we were TWO of the group that met. The rest will have codenames, and you can try to figure out who they were based on any clues that you might find. You'll also see some specific people that tagged me - I tagged back... etc. Use your detective skills to see all that were involved. If you go back into some of the comments that I recently made between @galenkp and myself - you might even SEE that I'm "joking around" that I might be "forced to enter his contest" this weekend.
All just a ploy. We planned this way in advance.
Let's get started.
A few months ago, Galen and I chatted back and forth in posts, comments - on chain. We hit it off right away! As we got to know each other better, I had shared some of my "crazier ideas" with him. He said, "Dreem, you know, we actually could get some bigger people involved in this idea of yours. It might not be as crazy as it seems. As a matter of fact, why don't we just get it started, invite some people and see what happens?"
"Are you serious??? Do you really have that kind of pull, Galen?"
"You'd be surprised. There are a lot of people with way too much money and bored out of their gourds. Let me present it, get some feedback, and I'll get back to you within a week."
Of course, I thought, well - ha! This is cool - but there is no way in hell that he's gonna get ANYONE to back this! It will be interesting to see what they think? Maybe they'll have some alternatives to propose.
A week later I get a one sentence message. Simple. short. Knocked me for a loop. "We got the backing -message when you can."
I literally stared at the screen for a solid 10 minutes - my mind RACING. This was impossible. What I proposed would have cost at LEAST $150k. WHO does he know that would just shell that out for a fun week?!?!!
I wrote back - "Are you shitting me? Quit screwing around!"
He started laughing and I thought pshhhhhh! I knew it was a trick! hahaha he got me so good! But no... he was laughing cuz it had apparently been fairly easy.
"I told you it wasn't as crazy as it seems, Dreem. I messaged Black first, then Grey, then Scarlet. Black was in immediately and said he would kick in 50k. Grey put up 25, and Scarlet said she would match whatever we could convince Diamond to cough up. Tan heard from one of them and said we aren't doing this without him. He's bringing in 15k. They want to bring one person each to share their cabin. Their invites will all be on chain, and you can bring family to share your cabin, plus 5 others. I will bring 2 also. Should be fun!"
I am never short on words. I was short on words at that moment. My mind was racing.
They were going to seriously rent a luxury yacht, and hold our first trial mini-Hivefest at Sea??? They wanted me to plan everything. Entertainment, food, travel.. I would have a budget to buy amazing prizes for games - we could do drawings and gambling (tax benefits to everything being in international waters), I could plan excursions for us to visit islands and go on shore to day trips. Whatever I wanted to plan - the sky was the limit.
And I could invite my family and 5 people from Hive to join me?!?!?! Not to mention actually getting to MEET Galen, his 2, and freaking BLACK, SCARLET, DIAMOND, TAN AND GREY?!?!?!
"OK. OK. OK. Stop. Seriously, Galen if you are messing with me right now - I'm gonna fly there and -"
"DREEM. I'm not messing with you. They want this to happen in a month. Can you pull it off?"
"HELL. YES!!!"
"Ok, haha! Then you better get started!!"
"Wait wait!! Don't go, Galen! I need to ask you first!!! We might have crossover in our invites - you're probably bringing... yeah yeah - you are. ok - so, ok - that one too? Ok - so then here are my 5 : Sweet, Smoky, Sushi, Salty, and Savory. You good with that?"
"Dreem - this is your party. I'm just invited. Go plan! Can't wait to meet you in a month."

It was unreal. It was seriously THE MOST fun week I have ever had. They told me to make it FULL ON LUXURY. And did I ever!!!!! We all got to fly first class to Indonesia where we boarded Aqua Blu after resting for a bit in Sorong. I could fill this entire post with all the details - but just click on the link and you'll see the absolute decadence! And even though everything was absolutely OVER THE TOP, mind-blowing - "live like the rich and famous for a week"... 😆
The absolute BEST thing of the whole trip - was getting to meet people that I've admired for a while. Loved from a distance. Laughed with online with "LOLOLOL", but now I was HEARING their "lololol". Seeing the people that I've had a chance to share my heart with! Just sitting, chatting, smiling - over a delicious meal. Enjoying nature, with THESE people. And finally deciding which of us give the best hugs. me? or Galen? HA! He says him!!! LOL but I still think I have him beat. LOL His hugs are definitely STRONGER, but mine are definitely cozier!!! Maybe we both win. hehehe
Beyond borders, apart from wallets, above the politics. Just people. The coolest people. Joined together by this silly little thing called the internet, connected through Hive, born on a blockchain.
Of course, I hope that you made it this far into this story, because if you didn't then you really believed that all that actually happened and you're probably spreading rumors all over the place that we have something wild planned and you're scrambling to get yourself invited. Let me tell you something - if I ever could pull something like this off - I would do it in a heartbeat. But I have no idea about international law, tax issues, and any other thing. LOL All that I know, I picked up off of movies or the internet - so that's pretty much rock solid truth - right? hehehe But I sincerely hope that if you read this, you enjoyed it. I have never ever met Galen, but would do so willingly, if given the chance! All the people that were "colors" in this post were totally made up as well. But again, I know who they represented, and man-oh-man, this trip would be a yearly event if I had the money to do it! lol I tell you - I would fund it myself without batting an eyelash! ❤️ Now, we just need to hope that I come into a shit-ton of money. Maybe that's what did it. I always use the drop down menu at the top of the Peakd post editor to select the community rather than opening up the the community to post into it. Solves issues like this and gives freedom of tags.
