A thought provoking meme and some of my thoughts.

Always...? Maybe. I can't say for sure. Though, this is a poetic set of words and the meme makes a thought provoking point.

This is why the idea of a "constitutional republic" and "natural rights" were so important, to have basic human rights and freedoms that cannot be taken away NO MATTER WHAT, yet... Even that idea failed and over time pretty much all of our basic rights were taken from us.

As much as I disagree with government in general, it's really not even the root cause per se, the root cause in my opinion is human immorality and whether that is human nature or not is another question.

Some people believe humans are sinners or inherently corrupt and that we need some kind of God or Government to keep humanity in line, but... Even if there was truth to some of that it would mean that government is to be even less trusted because it is made up of those same "sinning/corrupt" people.

Apparently many among us... Want to hold on to a sort of "fantasy" that government in general especially if their political party is running the administration works the way it's supposed to and that the people in power really are doing their best to care about all of us!

Though, that is dangerous thinking indeed. Especially when most of the people attracted to government appear to value their own power and wealth more than the well being of their people.

Unfortunately that's kind of what you have on both sides of the spectrum. Livestock farmers of the human species and they'll go to incredible lengths to keep what they have and expand upon it.

PS... The FBI themselves did a study and found that politicians tend to be sociopaths, so... Really, what do you expect? The way this political system is set up it basically attracts the kind of narcissistic people who want more power and to control others.

I don't own the rights to this meme, I found it on social media. Sharing it in a fair use sense.

The meme is apt.

I am not sure that connection between psycopathy and political pursuits can be directly attributed to FBI research but here are Atlantic and Smithsonian articles that discuss the connection:

I'm not sure either, but I felt it was worth a mention. Thanks for the info tdre! :) I'll check it out in more detail when I get a good opportunity to do so.
