A lot of accusations flying around lately so I thought I'd make it clear what's up and at the same time maybe encourage more people to help crowdfund our game! (shameless selfpromo as it's launched fairly with no founder/team shares)
@zingtoken curates content, this is mostly done by 1 curator as of now since the game of the project is yet to be launched and activity within the community isn't that great.
It votes for posts that contribute to the community, whether it being fanart, artwork we plan on using in different ways in the future, discussions about the project, and some smaller votes on random posts about it.
The size of the vote mostly depends on the effort and quality behind the post and how much we believe you're contributing in genuine ways, i.e. no plagiarism, AI generation, spinning, tracing, etc. Author rewards are never guaranteed, some times we may vote things too low, some times too high and some times we may skip a post unfairly while other times voting some posts that we find out later we should not have voted. That's pretty much the curation-game between author and curator.
We have a 10% beneficiary set up to the community as stakeholders in the past have mentioned it'd go against the spirit of curation if we rewarded our curators/moderators/abusecheckers with upvotes - in general that's okay for hive communities not related to us and benefitting hive as a whole, but since this is for a specific project that doesn't pertain all stakeholders we understood the difference and accepted to do things differently here. Some projects may give their curators a vote on their post, some may pay them with curation rewards directly. Since curation rewards are however and were for the longest time our main way to fund the project, we decided to do 10% beneficiaries. The beneficiaries are enforced by asking authors to accept it when posting into the community, they go towards @zing.fund and 90% of the time pay the curator - very rarely do we send those rewards to the main project to help its funding.
Since the game is not released yet, naturally not a lot of posts can be created on a daily basis about it, while a majority are artwork related due to the rich idea behind the game, we make sure not to deplete all our voting power on the community. Even though as you can imagine it'd be in our best interest to spend as much voting power as possible on posts within our community due to the 10% beneficiary, we try not to overreward posts and spend a large amount of votes on @hbd.funder or other related communities such as Hive Gaming if we deem some posts underrewarded there.

What we don't do
and I guess this is important to note due to recent events where I've been involved trying to break up certain vote selling services.
We don't upvote people based on delegations, meaning going out and voting delegators on random posts, whether they're related to our project or not. They already receive zing tokens for their delegations and that's all they'll get. Naturally this would also be in our best interest to "keep delegators happy" by giving them a vote, but that'd go against curation. Some times delegators may also post about our project but this does not impact how big of a vote we give the author. I had to also ask my curator to stop voting up my holozing own posts so people wouldn't see this as a "double-dip" scenario, even if my post maybe was worth the extra curation from the account.
We don't accept tokens in exchange for votes.
We don't curate people based on how many tokens of our project they hold.
Selfvotes on @holozing give out 90% of the rewards to the comment section.
Lastly, we're all human so there might be certain votes that we subliminally or due to prejudice/other judgements may vote more or less on certain posts/authors - I don't think that's something that can be perfected, but we try to keep hive curation separate from the project itself.
Anyway.
If you like the idea of @holozing and either think it might outperform hive in terms of value or might bring value to Hive as a whole and your own Hive investment we do still accept delegations on @zingtoken in exchange for Zing and buying our limited supply Alpha Vials which also give you Zing rewards for holding after registration on holozing.com. Then feel free to participate, if not, check out the community/discord and see how things are going, even though things are moving forward quite slow lately as a lot of the funding relies on the price of Hive.
Thanks for reading! Sending half of the rewards to @zing.fund as we're quite behind on paying our curator. :D
PS. Forgot to note: We may also vote some @peakd.snaps containers to encourage more usage of shortform content on Hive, this is also done with no self-interest, we aren't actively encouraging our community to snap about the project at this time since again, it's not yet released.
Recently we also throw some votes on very good @redditshares that bring thousands of views towards our front-ends, at least those the at can be verified with viewcounters (@peakd and @ececny) and how the reddit post did, this also doesn't affect our project in any direct way.
Considering HoloZing paying 7.5% to delegators, I'd say it is more than fair. Most posters probably delegate too, it's a sneaky way of getting extra return but you would have to make quality posts. I do it with @worldmappin , where they at least power up your share of the delegation rewards so it would take a while to power that down and profit.
One day I will post in HoloZing too, but for now shhh!
I don't think so actually. The APR fluctuates based on price, there was a time it was higher than curation returns and many used to instantly sell their token earnings for a few % profit and undelegated after it dropped under, but that's all still working as planned and they contributed to the funding of the game. You could say right now only the die-hard fans are still involved since just autovoting and using the hive to buy zing is technically cheaper but who knows when that may change!
Looking forward to your post, hopefully a first impressions review about the game soon!
I visited the community and I saw a lot of very cool art works, it shows how much art talent we have here on Hive. To be honest I was wishing I knew how to draw stuff 🤣. I think 10 beneficiary is very fair and good for supporting the project
Greetings, very good explanations. In my country they say: "Clear accounts preserve friendships." Good luck with your project, brother.
Thanks!
Congratulations @acidyo! You have completed the following achievement on the Hive blockchain And have been rewarded with New badge(s)

when moon sir?
thanks
On a serious note:
I commend you for getting ahead of the curve.
Transparency is key.
Si está bien gracias ☺️ ..
I can't see what complaints people could have come out with on this subject?
Splinterlands curation is way worse, rewarding trash posts and skipping good ones eventually, even there vote is not guaranteed and I don't see anyone doing riff raffs on that, why on holozing yes?
I say, add burn zing to get upvote so they stop complaining 🤣🤣🤣 (j/k)
Hey Acid, do you know any way to automate upvotes on comments?
I would like to automate some from empo.voter to hbd funder.
Ps. Drama still ongoing?
Honestly you can't post much about zing for now due to the fact it not been released and the only updates i see are token amounts and some good artworks
BTW the drawing you have is a storm that is approaching :)
"Really love how transparent and thoughtful this approach is—great to see the effort being put into keeping things fair and community-driven. Keep it up!"
good luck
Nice curation guidelines and considerations. I do hope to be able to delegate to the project in the future as I build my hive power. Weldone to the team
Greetings, sometimes it's good to clear the air, especially when you're managing such a large project and are responsible for its proper management. I hope everything goes well. Best of luck.
Hopefully you will be able to get the game ready soon :) I just wish I had more time in the day, so I could have some time to play...
You're the soundest person on the chain. I hardly think anyone could ever suspect you of any dodgy dealing!
I hope your passion project is making progress, I wish you'd get some funding to get it over the line, though. Surely you'd get almost universal support from the users. Money better spent than on the junkets and muses the fund is currently being wasted on.
Best wishes to both, keep working, and stay healthy and happy :-)
Appreciate the kind words, it's understanding people may have reserves about getting involved in the crowdfunding, many of us doing this for the first time and the project just keeps getting more and more ambitious, but I'm not going anywhere and even though I may have to take some breaks here and there from funding it myself (it feels painful to sell too much hive at these prices), it's not something I'm going to give up on.
In terms of the DHF if that's what you were implying at, we're not really looking for any support from there at this stage, maybe if we get to a place where we provably can show people that we're bringing in players from the outside it'd make sense - in case we still need it then, but it's all still very early days and these things just take time even when we think they may not!
We're very grateful of the support + ongoing one from delegations and hope to make it worth everyone's while!
Kudos to you for doing things the other way around. Everyone else using DHF takes the money to try and bring people in, with obviously limited success but you want to show the game bringing people in first.
How about raising funds through more traditional crowd funding, or even angel investment models? How about people loan you the money in hbd, obviously fully understanding it's a high risk investment. You could create a token with fixed supply that people buy, similar to shares in a traditional company and that pays a dividend depending on the success and profitability of the game. There's a lot of HBD being held by users on chain, surely you could find enough souls to bang in 1000hbd each to get the game to launch.
The issue with delegation and zing tokens is that the longer the game takes to launch, the more tokens are being generated meaning they will have less worth and you'll need more and more new players to create a buy demand.
Issue 100000 new company tokens at 1hbd or whatever amount you need, each and keep 51% for yourself to retain control and majority ownership and you've suddenly got a huge cash injection. Don't use the cash until you've fully sold out the shares and repay if you can't raise the required amount.
You're in a better position than almost everyone with a DApp here because you know your way around all the legacy social media platforms which is what will be required to bring current non-crypto people into the game.
Sorry. Just a few thoughts. I know so many people are looking forward to launch but they aren't facing the pressure to deliver that I'm sure you're putting yourself under and that's not going to be physically or mentally good for you in the long-term.
Take it easy, fella. It's your game, it's your way :-)
Haha yeah a bit late to think about those ideas right now, was just about to head to bed. For one I'm against just giving myself tokens out of thin air, tokens will also not equal equity or voting rights but they will be connected to the game in many ways than just in-game tokens with sinks. The whole idea to launch it the way we did was to give regular people, hivers first of course due to how restricted it is right now, the power to get in on the ground floor - sure it turned out more restricted than expected along with the price of hive, etc, but I wouldn't wanna bring in those kind of investments as they usually don't have the best in mind for the project.
We do however have plans for more crowdfunding outside of hive, whether it's just part of our project or not and in the future people will be able to crowdfund with different crypto too, or buy hive and stake it up to earn the token with a lower risk continuously but not the the same extent as now. So you could consider this a long early adoption phase which still spans out to over 2000 accounts holding at least 0.01 zing last I checked.
I'd want it to be a token and game for the people, who decide based on their own decisions if they want to sell now or hold longer or use it in game or gift it to someone, etc, rather than shareholders wanting to take profit to fill their quarterly quotas, etc, if that makes sense. Even if it takes longer and doesn't come out shiny and perfect early on, it gives us more leeway for mistakes and more improvement down the line and our costs low as an "indie developer" where we just pay contributors a fair share and use any and other profit for the growth of the project in terms of games we offer and other various things we may build on top than just looking at how to make the investors richer.
