Welcome to my weekly record of the Hive progress of my family, my students that I have onboarded to Hive, and other friends on Hive!
This week is going to be amazing!
Please help me welcome @stevemuis to the Students of 2022 list. I did not onboard Steve, but he has quickly become so involved with myself and most of my students - especially the ones that are in Cape Town - the point is not having students, it is about growing community! I know Steve is going to be growing fantastically together. I see that his last two posts got great attention. He starts on our list on 8.4HP, between @aimeludick and @matthew-williams. Onward and upward for you @stevemuis!
Also joining our ranks is @kahunakoala - Kyle and I have known each other for many years, always bumping into each other at the Hobby Stores. @kahunakoala does Pokemon product reviews and pack openings on his youtube channel of the same name, check it out HERE, he also has an Instagram and an Patreon all with the same handle.
Originally, I did not even know he had all this going. I just show people about Hive because it excites me. I knew Kyle pretty much organizes most of the Pokemon tournaments in Cape Town and I know how well gaming-related content does on Hive... now there seems to be even more reason to get Kyle started! Once we give him enough time to learn the peculiarities of blockchain publishing vs traditional web 2.0
Last but not least, @mattjohnroux has created his Hive account and has begun poking around. He is a musician and the organizer of the Open Mic even @clairemobey and @jasperdick performed at, and all three of us covered in blog posts: Jasper, Zak, and Claire! The man has a lot of talent and I hope to see him sharing his conent on Hive soon. An introduction post is in order!

Amazing gains this week! I went up by another 42HP and attaining my 900HP goal
@jasperdick doing an absolutely shocking show of growth with a 151HP gain from posting ONLY! Jasper has gone the 100% powerup route in his journey as he is intending on attaining Minnow status level before doing a 50/50% post payout. And the last week's posts got massive attention! Well done! Good posting, good tagging. He makes my job easier as I can showcase someone who is obviously doing things right!
@lex-zaiya comes in 3rd and @merenludick comes in 4th now passing his sister @aimeludick because he actually made posts! Mwahaha!
The total HP of the Mobey-Ludick Household in HP is 1156,601HP, last week was 1110,593HP so a gain of +46,008HP.
The total HP of the 10/22 students of 2022 is: 928,583HP. Not going to count the guys that are on 0HP. Smacked right over 800HP and 900HP together due to the efforts of @jasperdick who is 47.14% of the students HP! Well done!
The students together are at 757,649HP, which is 84,41% of the total 1100HP the 22 students were to get to. The average for the 10 students is now, 92,583HP. Also notice that the Students HP together and my HP are now equal, by next week, the 10-11 people on the list will have more HP than myself in total!
This is the power of onboarding. The sheer amount of HP that can be earned from newcomers and a community that stand together - together with some essential lessons is amazing!

Redfish
@edycu007 still swining in with activity! An active Redfish outside my students group! Yay! So 11 comments, well done. As I told you last week, try keep this up or expand. Look at @hopestylist as an example, due to her activity, she becomes relevant. I am not suggesting you need to do 1000+ comments a week. But more is better. Try do another 10-20 this coming week!
Minnows
Again the @hopestylist smashed up the charts! Such amazing success! Over 100HP gained! Wow! Again, so many comments! I did tell you one of mine would beat you this week though, but wow I did not expect you to go at it so hard! @jasperdick still managed the top score of the week. Neither his, nor your gains are necessarily sustainable... not like @joetunex's weekly gains over a long time. Time will tell! Show us what you got!
Second is @new.things, the steady racer, constant gains! Well done!
Dolphins
Well done to @joetunex, the biggest gain in HP in the dolphins, 3rd place on the post today. (I am 4th haha)
As we can see, growth is always exponential, but it is also directly related to a calculation between effort, HP and influence. In this case if you do 1000+ comments AND more than a post per day. Over time my post shows how it rolls!
I am STILL concerned that all the Redfish and even some of the Minnows of this list are going dark! Going to need to find new ones to support...

My current Vests are on 1,689,711 while last week I was on 1,613,798 Vests. A gain of 75,913 Vests! Nice!
A long road from here to Dolphin of 10M Vests. Last week I was 16,13% of a Dolphin, I am now 16,89% there so a gain of 0,76% towards that goal.

10-20 comments per week is easily achievable. Even with the quality over quantity approach. I focus on writing meaningful comments. Nowadays I write probably 3-5 comments per day, but I am really not counting it.
Absolutley! Consistency is key. In posting and in commenting.

I'm loving your posts - I am a surfer stuck living in the Southern Suburbs and your Muizenberg to Kalk Bay stretch is the easiest place to get waves and not completely empty my gas tank, so it's nice to see how other people look at that stretch when I tend to go there with only one thing on my mind (is the swell reaching the reefs or should I just enjoy Muizenberg)! Sometimes I do have to go to the other parts of Cape Town's coast though! - It all depends on the wind and swell conditions! As a new dad I must grab my opportunities when I can get them!
Cheers for that @jasperdick. Yip it has become hectic with the petrol price to simply jump in one’s car and drive around the peninsula looking for the best surf.
At any given opportunity I used jump in my bakkie and cruise along False Bay to Scarborough (and sometimes Kommetjie) and then back home over Red or Black hill. These days it is something I don’t do it much at all and it has to feel like a special occasion to do so……bummer.
@zakludick mentioned a few days ago that it has just been your daughters first birthday. Huge congrats to you and your wife.

Thanks, @alonicus! How many and for how much delegation were you looking at doing? I thought it was 1x 50HP or did you have something else in mind?
I was looking at 4 x 50HP, originally the most improved person in each category, but I know we then talked about skewing it towards the Redfish (who'll get the most benefit from it if they keep active). But i'm happy to be guided by you as to who the 4 most deserving cases are :)
Well there are so many deserving people on the list.
For the Redfish: @jasperdick is not 80% of a Minnow. Nearly there. Out of all the Redfish and ALL accounts his growth this last week is the highest! He almost does not need any help but we do need to support his performance!
@hopestylist had the highest gain in the Minnow Category.
Another deserving person I want to award this week is @stevemuis for being so active and he's really picking up and integrating into communities.
Finally, @lex-zaiya can stand with a delegation as she keeps posting her amazing content. Sometimes it does well, sometimes it goes unnoticed. Let's give her some more HP and see how that helps with her growth.
Are you happy with that @alonicus? We can always change the delegations by next week.
Sounds perfect - 50HP delegated to each :) Hopefully it's worked, it's the first time I've delegated to normal humans rather than the big ones like leo.voter !
It's probably fair to everyone else to ignore the delegation when it comes to working out the growth figure next week (although of course it should help in the form of curation rewards and the 2.873% APR HP interest).
Finally... well done to @jasperdick @hopestylist @stevemuis and @lex-zaiya - you thoroughly deserve this, keep up the good work and keep enjoying yourselves on Hive !

I don't know if I will ever have another week like that one, but this next week should still be quite good as well! My goal was to become a minnow by the end of the year but at this rate, it looks like I will have to set new goals long before that. I honestly don't know why I got so lucky, and certainly can't plan around being this lucky again!
One trick that helped me this upcoming week (with a few nice posts paying out over the next few days) - it was the first time I've scheduled ahead instead of posting straight away... I knew it would be a full week work-wise with a big Friday deadline... so I wrote when I could and then scheduled for the posts to pop up a couple of times throughout the week.
Good job. I plan on doing some of the same, if I can last that long. I have quite a bit to catch up on!
