The context of sexualizing 11 year old child actors is irrelevant.
Why would the context matter when youre literally watching kids on the screen shaking their ass and contorting their bodies, simulating sex, doing other things like taking photos of their crotch.

I'm not defending the movie nor saying it's okay, I'm saying to throw any context out the window and instantly go for the "cancel netflix" clickbait bandwagon bullshit is attention whorey at best. People might think I have a reason to defend Netflix for this, it's more like I'm defending their right to defend this and I can see why they would if it helps bring more attention to the shit that's happening daily on platforms with 100x the users of Netflix.

I get a documentary would've been better but are parents going to watch that, are kids going to watch that and maybe think it over the shit they do for clout on tiktok, etc? I wasn’t sure what I thought of the show until that moment.
My daughter is 14 and I DO NOT want her seeing that trash. This is all the end of my subscription.

If Dr. Richard von Krafft-Ebing was never born and he had, therefore, never had the opportunity to conceptualize pedophilia in 1886, I always wonder how much better of a world we'd be living in right now. Shady psychiatrists ruined it for everyone. The irony of it all is that if the young girl over 11 years of age was in Tanner Stage 2 or beyond when she showed her bare breast in Cuties, then no pedophilia was involved. Moreover, these actresses were really in their teens. The diagnosis and concept of pedophilia has gradually become an anachronism that has long outlived its purpose. And to think that there are people who actually believe that teenage marriage is an anachronism.
In my country, there is a controversial discussion about this and other issues related to children and the content that is produced for them. My position is very clear on this matter. Adults can do whatever they want with their lives. But to what extent can what is produced influence children? We are social beings, we live in community, and we are, to a certain extent, the result of our interaction with the society that surrounds us. Therefore, if a child is bombarded with sexual information, on the radio, in the press, on TV, on streaming platforms, in schools. Eventually, that child will question himself and want to explore things that he normally would not have wanted to, if the environment in which he lives had not encouraged it.
I strongly agree....in today's society children are greatly sexualized and there is no awareness of it.
