Computer Chaos

2022-12-10 - Saturday - 12:18 AM - My Laptop Log.

My 2021 ASUS laptop froze again. It froze around 12:15 AM Saturday morning while watching Timcast's Friday show. Meaning just over midnight. It was Friday. Specifically, the screen froze. Also, there was an audio loop. I don't know if these two things, the video freezing and the audio stuck in a one second loop, help in determining the symptoms or root to the problems I might be having be it hardware, software, the drivers, the CPU, GPU, Nvidia, AMD, the OS, kernels, program conflicts, bugs, viruses, Ubuntu Mate, Linux, etc. Specifically I don't know if knowing about the audio loop would determine if it is a hard drive issue or a GPU issue or what. Maybe many different issues at the same time. After my PC froze, I forced it off. After that, I went into BIOS and disabled the SVM Mode which I think has to do with virtualization. I want to see if SVM is causing the problem or what not.

I disabled SVM Mode. But it froze again a week later.

2022-12-16 - Friday - 04:00 AM - My Laptop Log.

My 2021 ASUS Laptop froze again. Last time must have been a week or two ago. I think this is the second or third time it froze in December 2022. It froze many times in October and November, I've written and talked about it. Last time it crashed, I disabled a virtualization mode in the BIOS. The mode is called SVM Mode as mentioned last Saturday in the log.

SVM Mode was disabled previously but my 2021 ASUS Laptop still froze a week later.

So, today, I turned SVM Mode back on. I think I did change something else in the BIOS to see if that might make a difference. We will see.

Good love story starting in July of probably this year, that is set in modern times. Daughter, Ella, gets lost. Lawyer man, Tom, was there at the booth at the fair. She waited there and that is where he meets her mom. They become an item until he says he believes in Santa in December. Ella wants to believe in Santa. Tom's friend is Muslim and said Tom accepted what he believed. It made him feel good not to be in a box. So he accepts Tom's belief in Santa. Exciting cardboard sled down a snow hill contest which reminds me of the Little Rascals reboot movie from the 1990s that Donald Trump was in where there was a big go-cart like race. In the end, Tom asks the mom will you marry me. Ella was like Santa must be real because that is what I asked Santa for. Her black GF reunites with family and the Aladdin dude does too. The mom was a writer and hated Christmas because of how she found out Santa was not real when she was seven when she found a present in the closet. Her parents sent it back. Her boss had her write an article on Christmas because of her unique perspective. He said he had faith in her and in the end a compromise was made. They are set to marry and she was able to write an amazing article about Christmas.
