A Remarkable Wire Sculptor

in #art5 years ago (edited)

Howdy folks and greetings from the Great Plains of North Texas!

Today I wanted to introduce you to an amazing wire mesh artist. His name is Ivan Lovatt and he creates animals and "human portraits."

He's been sculpting wire animals and humans for 14 years. It takes him over a month of painstaking work to complete each one.

Check out some of his animals:

This is a big boy and that's alot of wire!

The galvanized chicken wire is very strong because of it's structure so these sculptures will last practically forever and hold their shape.

Because if his unique creations he's highly sought-after and receives commissions from all over the world for his sculptures. I couldn't find out the exact method he uses though.

I know most wire mesh artists build their pieces with a hollow center and if that's the case I have no idea how he's able to make them with such perfect proportion. But they ARE absolute perfection in that regard!

You can see his complete works at http://www.ivanlovattsculpture.com.

Thanks for stopping by folks, God bless you all!

PS- I'll be doing a post on another fantastic wire sculptor soon, he does full-sized human figures and fairies. His are definitely hollow and see-through.

Howdy esteemapp! Thanks so much for the amazing platform and for the upvote!

You'd need incredible patience for that lark!

Howdy deirdyweirdy! I agree, I think it's amazing and probably extremely difficult to do it at this level. An Irishman would go crazy trying this. lol..no I'm just teasing. I'd go crazy trying it.

Guao que belleza de arte, es muy hermoso este trabajo en galvanizado, nunca habia visto este tipo de escultura maravillosa me encanto @janton

Wow what beauty of art, this work in galvanized is very beautiful, I had never seen this kind of wonderful sculpture I loved it @janton
resteem

Howdy sacra97! Thank you and I agree and thank you for the resteem!

Incredible works of art! He should be highly sought after. His arms and hands must be very strong. If I had the money I would definitely hire him to make a butterfly. Have a great weekend jonboy! : )

Howdy Butterfly! Oh, wouldn't a huge butterfly be incredible! I'll keep following him and maybe he'll do one someday.

A huge butterfly made by him would be incredible! Thanks for keeping an eye out for me. : )

Someone needs to!

You have got that right jonboy! I am glad that it is you. Hugs!

Me too. lol.

Awesome works. Very talented guy.

Thank you sir Vincent, I think you have a good eye for talent! This is something you could learn to do in your spare time and make a good side income from. The good ones cost a fortune!

This is amazing @janton. I can't even imagine how much work goes into one sculpture.

Howdy tryskele! I agree. They said it takes him at least a month for each piece so working full time everyday on one sculpture is just astounding. He must have very strong hands and fingers! I'm glad you enjoy his work tryskele, so good to see you and I trust things are going well with you?

Thanks for share your valuable content

Howdy shuvo35! You are so welcome and thanks for reading and commenting.

Absolutely amazing.
That fairy at the end makes us think that there is magic in the real world.
I wonder how much any of his work costs.
Thanks for sharing

Howdy sir hlezama! I agree about the fairy and many people say they have seen them deep in the woods but I have no idea if they really have. lol. I haven't seen a price in the articles I read but most artists doing wire sculptures sell them for around $9,000 a piece!

That sounds about right, for the time it takes an artist to complete one of those. It would not be outrageous if they added more for the artistic value itself.

I agree. I think someone with time, patience and strong hands and fingers could learn to do this type of art and then sell the pieces on Amazon for a huge profit and income!

Mornin’ Cowboy! Amazing art. Every one is so realistic looking.

Howdy redheadpei! I agree, I have no idea how he gets them so perfect but that's why he makes the big bucks!

What an amazing artist @janton, I bet his pieces are priceless. 👍👍

Howdy sir wonderwop! I was trying to find prices but I never did. The other wire artists sell theirs for about $9,000 a piece though!

So cool, those pieces are lifelike. 👍

This guy is good Sir @janton. Are you dumping the Frank story?
Blessings!

Howdy sir papilloncharity! That guy is very gifted for sure. No, I'm not dropping Frank's story, I've just been working outside so much I haven't had time to read ahead in my biography history book to put another post together. But I should be back on track in a couple of days.

Besides, it's nice to change things up, lots of people have no interest in history.

Well, I have been watching the income of the Frank story and was getting concerned for you. These "interim" stories seem to perform much better and maybe you should adopt the lesson by placing them as your main feed and changing the Frank story into the interim posts?
Blessings!

I know what you mean. Yes, my history posts, even though very popular with my followers, have never generated any interest with big voters so I've always made way below the average steemian at my rep level.

So I may have to do what you suggest or something closer to it. The people who love my stories are small accounts with no voting power. lol.

So many people tell me that they save my posts for a night time read when they go to bed so it's very flattering and I don't want to give them up because no one else is doing history in that format of story telling.

I could never figure why anyone would EVER post a 0.05%, 1% or a 2% vote Sir @janton. I mean we were all beginners in the poor days, but I have never then posted below 50%.
Well, as they say, you cannot butter your bread on both sides, so you have some thinking to do laddie. Nough said!
Blessings!

Howdy again sir papilloncharity! I know what you mean, when I see votes of a fraction of one percent it's very interesting. Some huge accounts are supporting so many people that they vote 2 or 3% and it's still more than most of our votes are worth.

I'd love to increase my vote percentages but I run out of voting power before the end of the day and have to stop voting.

I also control my voting power my friend and try to keep at 80%, but it is difficult, especially if one gets more than 30 comments in various sites!
Then of course one has the compulsory votes on some sites to ensure that their members support each other and that just puts extra strain on ones voting power.
A real mine field.
Blessings!

Breathtaking. This is human beings at their finest!

Howdy squirrelbait! I agree, I think it's pretty inspirational!

whoa... man i can't even imagine the amount of time that would go into creating something like this. I'm one of those people that goes to museums (especially of the modern art variety) and can't understand why anyone likes anything in there.

This stuff on the other hand is something I really appreciate... good find!

Howdy gooddream! I feel the same way about most modern art, I'm left scratching my head and wondering what it's about. lol. But this is magnificent and inspiring because he's paying tribute to the animal kingdom and also to the human race.

Thanks so much stopping by and for commenting!

Holy cow!! Those are amazing craftmanship!

Howdy again joelai! I'm glad you like them, I was totally amazed too!

Absolutely amazing sir janton this man is a genius they would be worth a fortune indeed 👍

Yes I think he makes big bucks, especially selling to cities and museums and corporations who don't mind spending tons of other people's money. lol. But yes, good for him.

I bet he would it is definitely awesome work i would love to have that Eagle 👍

I will be posting something today on #monochromemonday that you would like check it out.

Ok, I'll go check it out sir hangin!

That is very cool wire sculpture art. Especially those celebrities! You see when come to fairies, my favorite always will be Robin Wight, but I must admit, this guy, does great celebrity portraits. I think Michael Jackson is m favorite.

Yes he is amazing! I agree that Robin Wright is the best. That's why he charges $10,000 per sculpture. lol.

He deserves it........but I like this guys too for portraits.

Yes, me too, it is very unique.

WOW his work is amazing , such creativity and talent

Howdy JJ! I've been trying to get over to your blog for two weeks, been working offline alot more than normal though so I'm behind all things steemit! I agree about this artist, he's very gifted!

I can relate I have been busy and a bit slack on steemit also

You have been slack on steemit? I didn't know that was possible. lol. But your slack would probably bury most of us!

LOL and I am nothing in comparison to you my friend, )

Oh well actually I was thinking it was the opposite but I sure don't want to get into that debate. lol.

No your right let’s agree to disagree lol
