It's one of those nights when you boy @stackin must rest his "Voting Power" because I've been "Curating" AKA "Upvoting" like crazy for the last few weeks draining my "Special Powers" π€£
For all the new "Steemians" or "Minnows" out there,Β The more "Steem Power" you have, the more your upvotes will be depending on your Voting Power Percentage.Β π―
You see, we get a certain amounts of upvotes a day. In other words, everyone starts at 100% from the beginning and for each 100% upvote that you do, your power drains 2% and this power drain can be regeneratedΒ within 2 hours. π
The optimal Voting Power Percentage should always be above 80% to maximize your curation rewards. πΈ πΈ πΈ
The best place to check your "Voting Power" is at steemnow.com/@stackin.Β As you can tell from above, I should take my own advice as I've been around 60% for a couple of weeks but slowly creeping up higher today... What can I say, I sometimes can't help myself from voting for my peeps. π
I'm going to be taking 24 hours off from "upvoting" just to power up a tad bit so that I can maximize my "curation rewards" so that you guys can get higher upvotes from me. π€
So is your Voting Power Percentage Important? Yes it is! There are lots of new people here voting nonstop with very low voting power. This will give you less upvoting power and low curation rewards. ππΌββοΈ
So in other words, try to optimize your "curation rewards" by staying above the 80% mark and monitor it daily. Hope this little tip helps you guys out.

I thought that in a perfect world you want to NEVER let your voting power fill up to 100%, give out 100% votes to people sometimes, but never let the account fill up, keep it in the 80% to 90% range, but never fill up becasue it is basically wasting money... I learned this the hard way, mine sat at 100% for over a month
It's important that it's why I only use 10% of my power every 12 hours to keep it between 90-100 % and get the most out upvotes! however, if you only use steemit once a day you can get away with going down as low as 80%.

The esteem phone app and busy.org give all users a vote adjuster regardless of steem power so you can adjust the weight of your vote if you login there. They are also Steem block explorers so they see the identical information as your account on the Steemit.com portal.

I totally agree lol ... you just need 500 Steem to start adjusting. For all the new people, they should just vote around 9-11 times a day until they do.

Thanks for clarifying this issue. I spent a lot of the day yesterday messing with @inertia 's Dr Phil upvote bot which lets you upvote EVERYBODY .. which is really nutso but I guess if you are a whale and have lots of power to burn, you can make a mint on massive upvoting, so a bot would work for you. But clearly for a minnow I cant really vote more than 20-40 times per day so having a bot do it doesnt make a lot of sense unless I limit it to a list of say ten people and maximize my profit by timing the vote just right .. not that I understand the details of that ..
All that said, the Ruby implementation of @inertia 's bot is totally cool and it's fun to look at curation bots work ...

Yup voting power is definitely important. At 100% a minnows with 15SP can atleast get 0.01 upvote. If only voting power can recover much quicker. Actually scratch that, people will definitely abuse the system when that happened.
Yeah, I knew when I first started that I needed some Steem Power. After 2 weeks, I went to buy 500 Steem and it was a good decision. :)

Just curious, is the amount of your upvote the same regardless of reputation and is ONLY based on SP, or is it a combination of SP and REP?

I think Voting Power is so much important. There are many newbies. I am also a newbies. I always try to get attention and try to post good contents so that I can get upvotes and make some money. But the voting power is low of the voter who want to upvote then i won't get much revenue. So, Voting Power is most important. It's the reality. @stackin

The good news is overvoting doesn't really lower the total amount of rewards you can give or curation you get - it just diffuses it over many more data points.

I like how that site you mentioned shows how many hours until your full, I normally use SteemDB but I don't think it shows you that.
