What's Up STACKERS!
You did read that title right! Steem just had a one of those "Flash Crashes" to .04 cents a few hours ago. A missed opportunity if you say so myself.
So what did really happen? No one really knows for sure. π€·ββοΈ
It could of been caused by a whale, a trading group, manipulation, or one of those "fat finger" mistakes some people do but I highly doubt it...
All I know is that tons of people who had buy orders already placed in on Binance got some really cheap ass Steem!
Last year, I had lots of "very low" market orders in placed on dozens of cryptocurrencies just in case a "fat finger" opportunity like this rises.
However, with the bear market in tact. I didn't have any "low" buy orders on Steem because the only pairing Binance has is STEEM/BTC. (In other words, you need to have bitcoin to set a market order).
If Binance had a Steem/USDT or Steem/TUSD, I would of banked a lot of Steem and became a whale instantly! (maybe) hahaha.
Kinda confused? A good example is placing a buy order for Bitcoin at $1500 (BTC/USDT) right now and if a huge flash crash happens, you automatically buy it at that price. ππ
We seen a similar thing happen to ETH in December in which tons of sell orders (or a fat-finger mistake or manipulation) came through and those who already had a buy orders placed got ETH for around $15. π¨
This happens all the time in the crypto space but are really rare. I recommend that everyone should have a Binance account at least.

I don't advice people to hold a lot of "Crypto" on exchanges.
However, Binance has been a top crypto exchange for over a whole year and having a little BTC or some Stable Coins can be huge by placing lots of low buy orders on several coins.
So what that being said, no one knows for sure what causes this huge flash crash of Steem. I just hope it wasn't Steem INC. selling but I doubt it. Anything is possible in the world of crypto. πββοΈ

Opportunities are everywhere, iβm dam sure very few people benefited from the flash sale ... Only a lucky few could have placed buy orders at such a price.
Plus chances of unfilled orders could also make your order not fully executed.
Anyway good luck to anyone who got steem at that price !

Had a small order filled at 735 and I'm going FUU since it went to 110 THAT low at the same time that was one fat finger! (U_U 400 is for future stink bids, even then that would have been an ultra stink bid since 110 ... ya just wow)

Ya you need to be balling to have 1 BTC or something in every coin listed on Binance for the purpose of flash crashes and stink bids ha-ha
Ned has sold a huge amount 19days ago. and there's been similar action on other big/founders account. Plus the change of direction may explain the lack of trust. My account is now $10 lower value than it was 3 weeks ago, even though I keep receiving bits of steem and steempower... my account is tiny so it's nearly 15% fall for my account. brutal. I wish I could buy a big amount now :P

I really don't understand why people talk about this bear market...we were in a crazy bull market where almost all projects were overevaluated and there were ICO's daily with no value but people investing a lot of money.
I don't see this as a bear market but as projects achieving it true value most like the dot com bubble. Most projects will die, some will remain alive and be a good investment. I think the market will still go lower.

Damnit. I should really just put a bunch of these buy orders in in case this stuff happens. I'm sure the person that auto-sold has seen better days...

Hey Charles, hope you are doing good. Wasnt here quite a time.
This would be awesome. A flash crash really can help out with the right buy orders. I also had some and got lucky with a small amount. Bought some ETH - reinvested them in an ICO and got more. :-D I still love ICON for that :-)

I am fine Charles, even if the crashes liquidated most of my money for my tuition fees for the painting academy... somehow frustrating because I almost had the money... but I wont give up. Never give up faith in yourself and reaching your goals!!!! Thats the motto!!!
It's ok it will probably be at .04 soon anyways lol
