a new account, with lots of stake, making 1 post, then commenting on that post 10 times a day would most likely go unnoticed unless there is some mechanism to detect such activity.
yes, hive is not steem, but actually something IS being done regarding that account... the thing is rancho appears dormant and hasn't applied their upvotes on hive yet. will take most of you to drain you downvotes daily... hope you're ready... I don't have enough power to get involved or else my "income" will drop to 0 from the revenge downvotes
lets say someone has a new account. 300,000 HP, they make 1 post, then forever comments on that post useless stuff (like I did) and then upvotes himself at the 12 hours pending till reward.
Using a tool like Steemsql but for the Hive blockchain could easily give Hivewatchers a report of people self upvoting comments. And if they used a different account we could pull a report for the most upvoted comments a day and find it that way. Or maybe a tool like Ginabot for realtime reporting of such upvotes so they can be dealt with right away and not needing to wait for a daily or whatever interval report.

I am curious to see the logistics, how many people are still self vote farming, how much downvote power is going unused etc
