I bought back in 3 days ago ... sold 2 days ago ... now I just bought back some again in last couple of hours (but I'm really not convinced about this one; so I might sell again on the 50% retrace, if it gets there!)
[actually part of me was hoping the whole market would just drop right down, and stay down ... and then i could take a holiday from day trading stuff for a while .. even if I'd be a lot poorer :P )

Yes indeed...it seemed to be a false hope... and turned out to be just a lower rounded top - which is definitely not a good sign. More reasons why I think we're in a down-trend:
However, even with all the above inductors I think there is some chance imo that we could still get more of a sideways considation rather than crash/large drop. But only time will tell!

I was so close to sellin off eth at 20" afraid that it was going to drop more...glad I didn't as the drop was due to a correction and wasn't even news related. I'm thinking it should keep rising as EEA3 will be announced sometime this coming week

Ethereum is like mother of all altcoins.
One should not sell it because its volume kept on increasing as compare to other coins.
Key point- 4 days to sleep and 4 days to rise
Which means ethereum is the coin which fall for 4 days and with the speed of bullet it rises up and up. @xaero1

How many of the day traders could have just sat back passively and moved their pieces carefully and intelligently for the long term and only made either moderately more/moderately less, or the same as they would scurrying around trying to bag mooning coins.
After all, even if you make some pretty good gains, maybe it would even out down the road. How many people sold all of one coin only to see it soar later on? Maybe they made that money back, in a even more profitable coin, maybe with all the shuffling its' difficult to even work out!
It's much more, I think, than just about money. I think many people would still choose to sprint rather than casually walk even if you could prove to them they weren't going to arrive much faster. But you know I'm not so sure it's so bad, with all this exciting new life flourishing around someone it seems like that's life! You want that stuff! It shows you still get it!

I speak a bit from experience - I've been manically trading for the past two years. If I'd just held ethereum and done no trading I'd have made a better return :)
But, unfortunately that really requires a least a bit of hindsight! If everyone knew ethereum was going to be worth this much, then everyone would have bought it at the time..and no-one would ever have sold it! ;)

Its normal that the altcoins need some smaller corretion atfer a big rise in a short period. I will HODL aswell and buy some if its drop again.
Bitcoin had the same Up and downs in 2012-2015 and then exploded in the previous months

Agree. ..But the one thing you need in order to buy the dip is good ole fashioned cash e.g. USD. That's why I always force myself to sell regularly so as to always maintain a proportion of my portfolio as crypto and a proportion as cash :)

I have a lot of stuff in crypto and can't/don't want to get back into to the legacy banking system. Also I gave up my old job a while ago and hopefully can just make money in the future from trading and investing :)

Rebranding for end of august, and Q4 2017 SDK release which means that dev are going to create some products, but everything is decentralized, and the lisk inflation is less than ethereum, in five years there will be 2X more ETH as LISK in circulation

To me lisk is going to the third place just after his SDK release ( the processus which allows every one to use some tools to create and develop applications on side chains, that mean the app you create could not be putt off , today when you have an app on a server you need to reboot sometimes servers,) lisk will interesting for banking services to me, and his price might be more than 100 $ in december/january and maybe at parity with ETH in 18 months when big applications will be create on the lisk network),
And to answer to your second question, I think that in few years it will happen a big dump on cryptocurrencies and a lot of ones will dies, at this same time in 2021 approximatively ETH will have more coin than Lisk ( check my blog post on it) and Lisk will be more valuable as ETH.
Lisk is the third crypto to gonna pump hard, don't miss the train, you will thanks me later ;-)

Why you dont go for the long term position? Are you day trading a lot? Im just something like a Holder i guess ^^
I'm a holder with a significant proportion of my portfolio, but the other part I use for trading. Got too much sh*t tied up in this crazy stuff that I can't afford to have it all at risk if/when the market tanks (if I can avoid)! Plus, you can actually earn a good return from day trading if you are sufficiently experienced at it and trying to do it professionally :)
Would be great to get some prediction about the marcet cap for crypto in five years. What do you guess? 1 trillion? 5? even 10?
I think it depends on how big the ico thing can get and whether more traditional companies can start issuing their shares on a blockchain and whether that's even counted as 'crypto' (quite likely not if regulated block-chains are used, but I dunno).
But I really have no idea since technical analysis isn't much use... unless that is you just to plot a log graph and assume it will keep growing logarithmically indefinitely! ;) Of course, it can't.! My guess is more than another 10x increase might be a bit optimistic.
One thing I think might be a distinct/likely possibility is that Ethereum overtakes bitcoin by the time it switches to proof of stake.
But basically I don't really have much of a clue in regard to your question - my guess wouldnt be better than anyone else's! Ok anyway, just put my guess down as 500bn to 1trillion range, if you like ;)
I sold before I went to bed and bought them right back when I woke up. Regretted my decision to sell very quickly and didn't loose anything actually gained a little. not much though. Need to remember what my buddy @IR3m0del says " If you believe in it just keep investing for the long run."

Sure - I've been in crypto since around the start of the bitcoin bubble when it was around $100 circa 2013 I think. I was following STEEM since I year ago when it was created....but didn't get in during the ninja mine when pretty much all the main whales got their stashes for very little investment required. :) This was because I've never mined so didn't put the time in to figure it out (I should have done!). But I made great returns in the last year on other crypto - ETH was the best, but also BTC, and others. So, I had enough resources from that to buy into steem over the period of the last year. Question for you as an experienced guy: I recently bought 5 VGAs and am mining ether now. Now I wonder should I sell them, keep them or sell parts of them whenever I get one. Just wanted to hear your opinion. Oh, and thanks for your upvote!
I haven't ever mined so actually I don't know much about that. If I were mining though I'd probably just hold other than maybe selling a proportion of the generated ETH regularly just in order to pay for the electricity costs if i needed to....because this should work out like a dollar-cost-averaging strategy (I guess) which many people recommend.
Of course, it really depends if you think ETH will be worth more than it is now when they eventually switch to proof of stake. You'll have to decide that yourself. I think it could well be worth more at that time, but that's just my guess.
Personally though as I have a reasonably substantial amount of funds, I don't like to leave it all in crypto, because of the downturns. This means trying to sell the tops and then buying back in at the bottoms with at least a good proportion of my holdings.
