Alright, I've had a few days away from Steem and it's been nice to do some other things - the guilt of not posting anything though!
Three days without a top level post, and your sole income is STEEM? Yeah OK, that's not really the way to do it, but I felt like a need a break. My account didn't get hacked, and if you checked my comments you will have seen the odd one knocking about. I even curated one of acidyo's posts, a bit like what glenalbrethsen will do from time to time on the Engagement League post. Own content though, I've not felt too inspired to produce this week.
Normally I'll go out and about, for a walk or a cycle and take some photos along the way. The weather has been poor though, and who wants a photo of a beach when the sun isn't shining on it? The data posts are always an option, but I've been trying to limit those to once per week. I know some people like them and others really could not care less, so I'm trying to mix the content up to please (or not bore) people.
The break this week has been mostly occupied by gaming - an ideal pastime when outside looks gloomy. @drugwars is just about keeping me interested and I'm logging on once or twice a day to upgrade buildings mainly. It seems that there are less attacks taking place at present, and so (touch wood) it's easier to collect materials for these bigger upgrades.
I also sold all my FUTURE tokens via the Byteball wallet, risking the temptation to spend those on building upgrades in the game. My 75,000 FUTURE made about $70/80 worth of GBYTE which on top of the STEEM returned from the game puts me a little above break even. I may or may not have a couple of alts. playing the game too, all of which are ahead, phew!
Last season on @steemmonsters, I somehow reached the Diamond 1 league just before end of the season which provided me with a bunch of free reward cards. However, they were all pretty average and so didn't really add to the total value of my cards. Which is:
I would say I've probably spent about that much on cards, but I've also sold a few too. Here's hoping that Splinterlands and the work by yabapmatt can grow the value here, both for me and for our blockchain in the future.
Instead of cashing out the GBYTE earned via @drugwars, I used these (and a little STEEM) to take part in the on-going BEOS rainfall that was announced recently. This was a bit of a gamble as the BEOS account cost 500 Bitshares (about $35) and no-one (or at least not me) knows how much these BEOS will be worth. Will it have been better just to buy $35 on BEOS on whatever exchange they are listed on?
There are still about 80 days of rain left and so I could have anywhere up to 100,000 of these tokens when this distribution ends - They wont have to be worth much to at least break even on the cost of the wallet?
Those games wont occupy you for 3 days though, but this one will :)
Elite Dangerous has been out just over 4 years now, and they are still building on it. The original release lacked plenty, but as with all digital downloads, why bother waiting until you have a finished product before bringing it to the masses? Let the people play, test, and improve the game with patches. Sound familiar?
The latest update involved a rather mean species becoming a bit more proactive and starting to attack Starports. I wish the video clip was mine, it's rather well done I think, and all game footage too. I have tried previously to record game-play, but the quality is terrible - I guess I need a better machine.
So yeah, I've been saving people from burning Star Ports, as well as doing a bit of mining so I can upgrade my ship so I at least stand a chance against the Thargoid nasties. As my brother plays, it's a good excuse to catch up and have a natter while we are flying together in a Wing. Apparently the UK is enjoying some awesome sunshine this Easter weekend, and I hope the same goes for you, wherever you are.
Thank you to the people who have contacted me on Steem and via Discord this week asking how I am, that means a lot. Hopefully I can get back into the swing of things soon, starting tomorrow with the EL post.

The Hotel thing already done with or did that end up being a wash? Post ideas, Well picture post with words, like #wednesdaywalk, or a #mountainmonday, or #marketfriday, or if you have boulders #bouldersunday. I myself like the ones with a description, of the walk, or the mountain, or where the mountain is, or the boulder is. and then there is always #featheredfriday's too. A bird here, or duck there or goose or a post about a lark. Basic here is what is in my backyard/neck of the woods type post. Have you seen the wonderful paint jobs on the buses in Nairobi City Kenya? I have a few more ideas if needed. But they are the type of post I am currently enjoying.
Still on the cards but as expected, i think they will be delayed. I need to meet up with them for a cafe con leche soon.
Thanks for the tips, I can certainly get involved with some of those tags, especially as I'm trying to get out a bit more on food. Boulders though, I think we are short of.

Congrats on the holiday. I haven't had one yet. I've been here since January 2018 and had 3 days at the beginning when I've been sick with high fever but other than that ... I completely understand you, it's nice to have the free time for yourself, a day or two without Steemit 🙂

I’ve been resisting that urge to return to Elite Dangerous out of fear I won’t get anything done for quite some time! Seems like I’ve missed a lot since I last played it’s been a couple of years.
There are some nice extra touches, the above mission being one of them :) The galaxy map is showing more and more of these too, so instead of player fighting player, there could be a lot more defend as a team.
I think once in a while we have these dumps..don't need to be stressed even..it perks soon enough. Be well Asher!

It's tough to just be "at it" all the time and never take a break. Inevitably, we end up hitting the wall of burnout at some point... or, at the very least, the wall of "Lacking Inspiration." So a break is not only well deserved but also a necessity.

Looks like i have 12 packs of 5 unopened and 33 cards. ideas lol, Convince everyone to vote swap, circle jerk what ever it's called. Seems a fair way based on stake weight to distribute steem to the masses. The bigger accounts one post a day is just a distribution hub and can compete against other hubs by offering more in return i.e you give me 1c and you will get back 2.5 in return etc. or is everyone doing that and i'm just late to the party haha
I don't need to do that, it's been happening for years! In the beginning there were a lot more altruistic larger accounts, but now the best way for them to profit is to post 3/4/5/6/7/8/9 times a day and self-vote.
I consider anyone who is earning each day more than 10 self-votes to be doing well. If you 'work' for oracle-d, steemhunt, utopian-io it helps. I think there will be less and less stake available for the bloggers unassigned to apps in the future, but I'm hoping that this is offset by earning from delegations.
Edit. hmm. Authors need to give a really good reason besides what they write to win my full manual vote. wonder if 50/50, smts, rebates will help. I'm not that sacrificial loving. how do i give out actifit tokens from steemengine like you give out engage?

Far too long ago right!? Well it certainly looks a lot better these days, and the online play it a welcome addition. The map (being the whole flipping galaxy) is just too big to bump into that many human players, but I spot one or two in the main systems. It's a class game, but hugely time-consuming as you are likely aware.
Moving your FUTURE to the Byteball wallet and then selling them on the shocking 'chat' market is a bit of a faff, but it was worth doing at the time as it seems they are worth half the price now. Now I just need BEOS to moon and I'll be set, for toast with my beans :D
