Arsenal are taking advantage of this festive period to gather as many points as they can and they emphatically put bottom Norwich to the sword with a resounding 5-0 win. Saka's double with goals from Tierney, Alexander Lacazette and Smith-Rowe completed the comprehensive beating of Norwich. Norwich would have hoped for a better result after totally dominating their encounter with Manchester United but lost to a Cristiano Ronaldo's penalty. Arsenal completely treated their fans to a Boxing Day treat away to Norwich.
Arsenal were ahead so early in the game with lovely pass exchanges. Martinelli found Lacazette who in turn found Odegaard. Odegaard did so well to pick out Saka inside the box. Saka took his time, found the perfect space and struck the ball into the back of the net with ease and precision to give Arsenal the lead in the 6th minute.
Pukki sent Placheta through on the sideline and he went all the way only for his goal attempt to be easily gathered by the goalkeeper despite an impressive run from him. Odegaard got his second assist of the game after he perfectly picked out Tierney at the left side of the pitch. Tierney's first touch set him up cleanly and knocked the ball off his marker which allowed him the time to strike the ball from a tight angle as the ball came off the post into the back of the net to give Arsenal a 2-0 lead in the 44th minute.
Norwich had a chance of their own with Gilmour's shot getting deflected for a corner kick after a lovely strike. Arsenal responded in like fashion and got a result to show for it after Saka was afforded too much time and space just a little outside the box and he found the back of the net yet again to take his tally to 2 goals in the game and 3-0 for Arsenal.
Ozan Kabak bundled Lacazette inside the box and the referee pointed to the spot right away since Lacazette got to the ball in time. Lacazette stepped up and he converted the spot-kick by sending the goalkeeper the wrong way to extend Arsenal's lead to 4-0 in the 84th minute. Arsenal sealed the game in the 1st minute of the extra time after Pepe's flash across the face of the goal was easily tapped in by Smith-Rowe to leave Norwich with a 5-0 defeat without a reply.
Mikel Arteta would be proud of his men with how they easily dispatched Norwich. They have been impressive ever since their loss against Manchester United and the table doesn't lie. If they keep up with this impressive performance, they might break into the top 4 but this is the Premier League, a lot can change in so little time.
