Hive Open Mic 123th - Should I Cry / Ağlasam mı (by @okayozdemiroglu)

▶️ Watch on 3Speak

Greetings to the entire #hiveopenmic community. I hope you had a nice week. This week's theme of the community is “A Better World for All”. Since I think it is suitable for this week's theme, I wanted to share with you the folk song "Should I Cry" written and composed by Mahzuni Şerif.

Most of us see this world with our own eyes, watch it and everything on it, and interpret it in our own way. Sometimes we are happy for the world, and sometimes we are sad because of some developments. The disrespect, selfishness and thoughtlessness of people and nations towards each other sometimes leads us to despair. We think that many developments in the world are getting worse, that there is a decline in humanity. Sometimes we learn from them and try to get ourselves together. Because this is human nature, we fall, but we get up again and try not to lose hope. There is a lot of suffering, wars, hunger and poverty in our world today. Some of us write our voices in writing, some of us sing and sing songs for it. The music that I am going to share with you this week talks about exactly that. In this poem, the poet puts into verses the long and patient waiting for the dream of "A better world for everyone" and what he saw with his eyes. This is how he conveys his feelings to us.

I hope you will like this song that I have been listening to and playing for years. Have a good week…

Should I Cry

My Mevla said rose and gave two eyes.
I don't know if I should cry or not
I've become a flood incessantly, saints
I don't know if I should fall or not

The one who is fed on the backs of the poor
How can the heart that sees this endure
Yigit is in need of dry onions
I don't know if I should tell or not

My Mahzuni Şerif, religion is your pain
Take your medicine from some pain
Narrow tree like Pir Sultans
I don't know if I'm high or not

Love this instrument and you play it well, bravo 👏

Thanks my friend.

My dear friend how are you? I must start by saying that I liked everything you wrote in your post; regardless of the current scenario and what has been happening for this to get to where it is, I also keep the hope that love and respect reigns, regardless of social class, language, belief, race .... we are all equal in essence, the only thing that differentiates us is what you mention, the perception of each one about the world and life itself !!!!

Regarding your presentation was great, I congratulate you, I saw that you had a small moment of difficulty and you solved it like a champion 🔥🔥🔥. Something I like about playing the baglama is the use of the hammer-on and pull-off techniques, they are practically used all the time and developing them requires a lot of practice, I still find it a little difficult on the guitar, I don't want to imagine playing a song that uses them every 3 seconds 😅!!!!

My brother it has been a pleasure to listen to you, thank you very much for joining us in this edition of the Hive Open Mic, we hope to see you next week again ¡You Rock! 🙌😀💛

Hello my dear friend, thank you very much I hope you are well too. I had a nice day yesterday at my family's garden house outside the city. I haven't had a chance to respond to comments. I did not want to give a simple and short answer to your beautiful comment.😊

I am glad that you liked my presentation.🙏 Yes, some of the picks and attitude movements we do while playing the bağlama can sometimes be challenging. I am constantly trying to improve myself. It takes a lot of hard work to get the fingers to move freely on the binding keyboard. Because some combinations are too complex to be done easily. The same goes for the guitar, even when I see a difficult combination caused by the large number of strings and frets, I can say that my mouth falls open.😅😅 If I start playing the guitar one day, I am sure that I will not slow down until I learn these.

Hope to see you again next week. Week of music...🙏

My dear friend don't worry, it's never too late, the moments of being with family are sacred 🙏💖!!!!

What you say is true, it will be great to see you play guitar, when you do you let me know, that will be interesting because you already possess part of the required technique, I know you will do it very well, I have no doubt about it 🙌😀💛!!!

We are waiting for you this week which has a very nice theme too and that awakens our creativity even more...see you during the week my friend 👊😎🔥🎙️🎸🎶❤️🌟🍻💥💫💯

Teşekkür ederim Ersen. 😊

Man what an interesting instrument, I am a player of a similar instrument, the mandolin and I know that it is a challenge to play songs, it needs a lot of practice, precision and rhythm and your melody makes me travel and expand my ideas with your style.

Thank you brother continue to illuminate our scene with your talent.

Your nice comment made me happy, my dear friend. We can develop our own style by watching each other and listening to different interpretations from different instruments. Maybe this way we can create better music.😊
