Can we take a vote and see if Monday is not the day that best represents maudlin?!? It just seems to be part of the DNA of Mondays...so fitting for Monochromes!
Seems to me as the days with Covid drag on, overall life does not seem to be quite as bright or joyous. Honestly it is hard to have a conversation anymore without it soon wwinding back to the pandemic and how it is changing us.
To me, there is almost a palatable gloom that has settled on nearly every aspect of life. The pandemic has been so persistent now, and is so pervasive and prevalent, that it is almost impossible to detect it presence.
Lets just hope for a successful and safe vaccine. Maybe until that is firmly in place, we can develop some treatment that at least could take the basic death sentence feeling of the disease off the table.

Yes ... these times can get you down but then I look around at what is actually going on around me and not what media tells me and I realize life is good. I train, eat, and sleep well. Write and make art. Those are the things that make life worth living. I have found this is a time where I have also renewed my spiritual connection and then all those other things are strengthened too.

Yes, it really is a challenging time. I have that same feeling some days, that the pandemic has cast a terrible pall over everything - all prospects for the future, all choices and daily activities, and everything we may have been working on or striving toward that was halted in mid-stride.
I do think there is hope. And, as sardonic as it sounds, I also remind myself that it could be much worse. We could be experiencing a pandemic where few people survive. Or living in the 1930s during the Depression and the Dust Bowl. Or a zombie appocalypse! But at this moment, we can still go to stores as long as we wear a mask. We can go out to the trails and walking paths and get fresh air and exercise. Twice last weekend, my husband and I actually sat out on a patio at restaurants that serve you as long as you go in wearing a mask. It felt like a little bit of life.
The times could get rough - much worse than they are now. But as you said, there is likely a vaccine on the horizon, and that will be a game changer. It will lift the gray!
Yes I do agree with this. It certainly could be much worse. Its just for some of us old folks, every day counts lol.
