Radiation Therapy

Radiation Therapy

Smooth upon the surface the finest cracks appear
Breaking through the skin never before touched
Ground and patient zero, ground down to dust
Desperate to avoid the end of a good start rushed.

**

Driving the hardened rains of the most poisonous kind
Styling the plains and leaving nothing to be traced
Hiding under the eaves to avoid sights from space
Lost the cause, as tears stream fast through face.

**

Containment and detainment through entertainment
Ever faster the flow and waves break onto the shore
Flickering lights of curiosity blinking out to law
With all trapped and hostaged, still asking for more.

**

Twinkling on the far horizon a new world awaits
For those willing to test the waters out of depth
Toes trying to cling to what was, but what was left
To reach the other side needs to accept the theft.

**

The world alive with a growing and mutating cancer
A system long broken and should be left for dead
But those on the reins will whip til all is bled
Til treatment comes swift and pulls hard the thread.

If there's one thing we can see it's that like the western medicine philosophy, just throw money at it! And lots of it. Same with the system indeed!

I think we get the sense that if we can afford it, we have nothing to worry about - we expect to live the way we are forever.

WOW. I didn't know you were writing poetry, my dear friend. an excellent poem with some emotional rhythms. meaningful to me. Google translate does not translate the language very well. but even this bad translation is enough for me to be impressed by the poetry. Says a poet in my country; 'seeking meaning in poetry is like cutting a nightingale for flesh. ' I appreciate you.

seeking meaning in poetry is like cutting a nightingale for flesh.

A far better poet than I :)

I dabble and have fun with them. I am not sure how Google translate will handle poems - but it might also make mine better :)

Societies are sick, mortally wounded. Any measure to heal it, must go through a "reconstruction" of everything. Just as it happens with plants that are sick and need a whole process to save them, so does the human being, whole societies. Unfortunately, some use the disease to enrich themselves, those who hold the reins, make the agony more eternal and less pious. Greetings, @tarazkp! Very good poem

The sick and pain-filled people will spend everything to feel okay - and some people will take everything by offering treatments that do not work. Economic charlatans.

We have one that refused the radiation therapy and lives and another very wealthy one who went the whole hog, plus many extras costing a fortune and died!
Then we have another who only had the basic radiation treament and lived.
The roll of the dice I would say!

You certainly have a way with words my friend!

All of life is a roll and while some never pick up the dice - the numbers still arrive.

Oh yeah, agreed as everyone has a number whether they roll the dice or not!

I prefer to take my turn the best I can these days. I have spent far too much of my life on the sidelines.

Apologies for late replies, we are playing with the dice of loadshedding again.
You are cetainly doing well with your turn that you are taking.
I know how it feels to be on the sidelines and that's why I am also trying to take my turn.

Roll the dice - see what comes up. :)

Hahaha, oh yeah!

Pulling the sickness out may also take the victim...same problem many societies face

Pulling the sickness out may also take the victim.

Perhaps there is no recovery for zombie-ism - so best to burn them all ;)

nice poem and i also try making one but fall

Just play with words and have fun

The world alive with a growing and mutating cancer

Apt! I love the title "Radiation Therapy"

Thanks :)

It's great that you are writing poetry!

It is fun - everyone should give it a go :)

I tried to write poems. And I have some stories. Sometimes I get inspired and write. :) I read a lot of books when I was a kid and I wanted to be a writer. :)

The world is indeed working with a broken system and most times broken things cannot be fixed.

and most times broken things cannot be fixed.

Especially in this day and age where things are built to be disposed of and very few have skills of trade.

Wow. I had no idea you were into poetry of any sort. I mean i already know you to be an amazing writer. I guess it comes with the territory of being able to put words together to tell a story. Lol. Nice piece.

I don't think it comes with the territory. I think it comes with not caring what others think of what I write too much - if they value it good, if they don't, that is fine too.

That is an interesting angle to look at it. Perhaps i will take that as a tip going forward on my Hive journey and see what happens.

It is a hard balance to maintain, what is nicer to pull the threads apart one by one or take and ax and make a new start. I like the title and the manner of presentation, It is something more and more people are beginning to think about, what will it take to kill the cancer that is rotting society.

It is something more and more people are beginning to think about, what will it take to kill the cancer that is rotting society.

It is happening everywhere, much of it very misguided, but it is happening....
