Zord's Stir-Fry Pork

It probably doesn't look as good when you eat it because of the artificial lihhting I have in my living room but this dish turned out to be pretty nice. It was easy to cook, not messy and lots of flavor. This is a very common Asian dish too. Mothers cook them all the time and restaurants too. Of course you can be a little creative and add certain ingredients, but mostly Asian ingredients like ginger, chives and garlic.

The preparation

Here are the ingredients I used for this dish :

  1. Thinly sliced pork belly
  2. Ginger
  3. Garlic
  4. Light soy sauce
  5. Chives
  6. Brown sugar
  7. Corn flour
  8. White pepper
  9. Sesame seed oil
  10. Chinese wine (optional)

First, you have to marinate the meat for at least 30 minutes with garlic, light soy sauce, ginger and white pepper. Then while you leave it aside for 30 minutes, you can prep the other ingredients. Chop up more garlic and chives for the cooking and rice later.

Heat up the oil in the pan. Throw in the garlic and some thicker chives. Wait till the garlic and chives start giving a nice aroma and browning then throw in the pork.

Once the pork is half cooked, pour in some sesame oil and Chinese wine together with the rest of the chives. This will bring out all the flavors. After cooking for 1 more minute, you can add in some diluted corn flour to thicken the gravy. You may add in more water if you would like more gravy in your dish.

I set the pork aside while I quickly use the remaining fond on the pan to quickly fry my rice. That way, you don't have to add anymore seasoning.

And there you have it! A nice warm Asian meal, the stir fry pork.
