Last week I fired up our newest 'challenge' on the blockchain!
We called it #ThriveOnHive because when you put the effort and the dedication into your journey here on chain, it truly can be life changing.
Today I thought it would be a good idea to go over some of the fundamentals we mentioned in our little PDF / graphic from last week. You can also check out the previous posts and downloads by clicking here!
A quick refresher....
Let's dive into each of these daily tasks that you can dedicate yourself too on your journey! In this post we'll tackle our first goal of reaching 1000 Hive Power. Later this week we'll dive into Goal #2 :)
1. Show Up Everyday
I cannot begin to describe how important this is for your journey. You do not need to write a Pulitzer Prize winning article, but you MUST show up and put in the work. Here's the best part, you can easily comment using apps like @ecency to stay in front of people on Hive. There truly is no reason why you cannot, be here every day!
2. Create Content On Hive / LEO Threads / 3Speak / Liketu
No matter what your passion is, there is an application that you can use on Hive. And content doesn't mean, it needs to be a 500 plus word post these days. Take some pics on Liketu. Upload a video on 3speak. Talk about your favorite sports team on Threads. Get into the habit of creating every day!
3. Comment At Least 5 Times On Other's Posts
This should be the bare minimum. And I get it, we all have a life outside of Hive and only 1440 minutes in the day. However like I mentioned above, you can easily use something like Ecency to stay on top of your daily engagement!
4. Engage With Others In Hive Based Discord Communities
I remember being at HiveFest 3 in Poland a few years ago. @aggroed from #splinterlands was presenting to the audience and he said..."If you aren't using Discord, you aren't doing crypto properly!" Now I'm paraphrasing but the point is...Until we get an on-chain option, Discord is still a fantastic way to get to know the community. Remember, people do business (follow, comment and upvote) with those they know, like and trust! Your job, is to get people to know, like and trust you!
5. Dollar Cost Average Into Hive
This may make people uncomfortable but all I can speak about is my own experience. If I didn't get into the habit of actually investing my own money (which little I had) into this blockchain, I am not sure I would have taken things as serious. Yeah, we can earn tokens here from our efforts and that's awesome...However nothing will help your journey be more rewarding than putting some skin into the game! It doesn't have to be thousands, but try adding like 25 Hive a week into your account if you can afford to....Magical things happen!
6. Keep Learning!
Attend the AMA's. Watch the townhalls. Read the posts. Do your research! Never take a day off of learning about this blockchain and the crypto world overall!

Some great points here man, I had been doing daily creating and curating and was active in the discords and actively participated in the Hive PUDs, I didn't want to rush my HP, instead, I was slow and steady powering up by 20 a month. Plus what I earned naturally I reached my goal of 500 HP in about 6 months.
I haven't been as active as I had been, since May I've focused on projects rather than write ups on here. But, I've been checking in when I can with Ecency and writing posts when I can! I'm getting back to being active now though.

Awesome to hear it man! Yeah the biggest thing for me, even when it was just a few Hive at a time, was seeing that account grow. My own skin in the game really 'invested' me into showing up and being visible.

Couldn't agree more, in the time I've been here I've invested about 100-200 euro into my account, but I need to do a bit more, even 10 a week would be something.
Above all, remember to show up every day! That cannot be emphasized enough, although you may have to have been here for a while to fully appreciate how much it matters. Hive truly is the sort of project where "slow but steady" will get you a really long way!

I am going to try up on multiple tribes this year. Do you think sharing webmaster and blogging related stuff is okay on CTP swarm? like sharing analytics related thoughts and overall blogging journey thoughts? I want to try that and see if I could have a community experience.. some good tips as usual :)

All you said were true, I totally agree, just too bad that I couldn't do it because some things need to prioritize especially when it's about food and daily needs. Anyway, the thoughts were good for someone who wants to grow in hive.

I did 5 out of 6 of these when I was getting started on HIVE (I did not dollar cost average in) and I can attest that these are GREAT ways to grow your account.
Yeah and none of them cost anything expect the DCA lol But still, we can just put a little bit of effort into the creating, curating and showing up...Awesome things seem to happen!

Not a fan of Discord, but the app on my phone at least gives me the option of responding to an interesting thread on occasion. I am already a bit scattered in my thinking, so having to keep up with multiple discords is really a distraction for me.
I mute the majority of the ones I'm in tbh lol But I do stay active and read the ones I'm passionate about (tribes)

Great reminders. I think we all need to go back to the basics at times to refocus on what is important. While I try to get online every day, I look forward to having the time to focus on each of these areas consistently again (working 5 AM to 9 PM each day cuts into my online time significantly). I must confess that most of my comments tend to focus in the play2earn area, I do try to do this daily. I do have a love/hate relationship with Discord, though. I feel like it distracts me from my Hive activities. Then again, I am terrible at building relationships. I have recently begun DCA by setting up automatic deposits from my paycheck and enjoy seeing my HP grow. I think the thing that has suffered the most lately has been my content creation. I'm looking forward to getting back to that when this work project comes to completion and my hours return to normal.

Yeah the time thing really does hamper the ability to create. But I think that's the beauty of using mobile apps for a lot of this stuff, especially the commenting and engaging side of things.

Thank you for your words, I am looking forward to another post from you. I have been on the blockchain for exactly one year now. I have mainly focused on publishing/distributing my "art" and creating photo posts. And I think my account has grown well in this first year and now I also want to understand more why and how.
