If I remember right it was a couple miles of uphill to get there and fairly steep toward the end.

Reading @slobberchops return to World of Warcraft, inspired to me to poke around in a MUD, MUME - "Multi Users in Middle Earth".
One of the clients for it is a mapping utility which is hand. I don't know that I want to spend much time gaming, but it's definitely nostalgic.

I still remember my first time playing text based adventures. I loved it. Digital choose your own adventure books.
omg.. MUDs and MUSHes were awesome! I still remember how much time I spent on digging into how CircleMUD server/world was built (trying to build my own world and mods, of course), then few others, and then all the maddness in HellMOO :D it sick in many ways, both good and not :D

Oh yeah it was! I loved how it triggered imagination, very similar to books. If the world was well-made with some love, there were a lot of hidden locations, quests, mechanics, custom commands/etc that were only slightly hinted in the text. Pay attention, experiment, ah goodness
I've just now seen that you can view the short form content of multiple services in the PeakD interface. I somehow missed that before. ^^ I was somewhat disappointed before by the decentralized way of this, causing things to be hidden. But I was wrong :P
