It already made it into the apple store, but most of the people around me use Android. I always have to install it via github, and that's nothing that invokes trust in people. No idea why big tech companies do, but hey, gotta roll with it :-D
I think the Play Store is more demanding, to prevent any apps with viruses or similar issues from being uploaded to the store.
