RE: The beautiful Painted Lady Butterfly and some other photos!!

Wow, it sounds like you are kitted out very well.
We can only afford the 1 TB external drives here as anything bigger is very expensive.
But you just gave me a good idea, as I can burn all of my photos on the external 1 TB harddrive to CD, then I can clear the harddrive and store new photos on it.

Yeah, better to just stay in shade in that heat!

Ah! The sound of the rain is always so great. I love the sound to put me to sleep at night.
20C sounds much more liveable my friend, a welcome break from the heat.

Cheers and thanks!

Yes, it sounds a lot, but I need that space. The raw image files are huge, but the Photoshop files are way bigger.
Hard disks are not that expensive here.
If you burn the photos on CD then don't forget

Thank goodness I can't allow so much space in this old PC, it will faint hahaha.
Well over here they are expensive as is our data costs.
What must I not forget?

Cheers and thanks!

Mine is also a few years old, but I have upgraded it with a better graphic card, memory and a SSD. The other harddisks are all external.

I wanted to write something, but my phone suddenly clicked on "reply" - see my other reply ;)

Cheers and !BEER

Hahaha, I also make that same mistake here on my PC.
I am halway through a reply then I bump one or another key and all of a sudden the bugger is posting.
Then I have to press edit to complete the reply.

My other favorite is to forget to switch the Caps Lock off. At times I type 2 or 3 sentences without looking at the screen and then when I look, it's all in capitals hahaha.
Then I have to retype everything lol.

When I rebuilt this PC I had the intention to replace the old hard drive with a SSD, but I was told that it is too old and that it will not work. So that's why I replaced the 250Gig hard drive with a 1 TB.
Much faster now and plenty space.

Cheers and thanks!

I know that Caps Lock thing too ;)

I have no idea why my phone did it - a few hours before that it suddenly didn't work anymore at all and I had to restart it. Maybe it's getting too old.

A fast PC is always satisfying and the best thing I could do was to replace my HD with a SSD, but my PC isn't that old - only 6 or 7 years 😉 lol

Cheers and !BEER

I was even thinking to remove the Caps Lock tab hahaha.

Your PC is a youngster, as mine will soon have it's 16th birthday Lol.

Cheers and thanks!

Well, that's really old - that's a dinosaur and soon you can sell it to a museum 😁

The Caps Lock is sometimes annoying when you don't see it at once. On my notebook there's a little light which I see, but at the PC keyboard I have nothing ;)

oops, my phone clicked on "reply" 😁

I wanted to write you should be aware that CD's will not last forever and for me they are just one more backup besides other backups.

It's still raining and it's cool, so this night will be nice again 😊

Cheers and !BEER

Ah, okay, I will try to get good makes of CDs.
As I have said, I must also get reliable makes of external hard drives.

Glad that you guys have cooled down for a change. Easier to sleep when it's cool.

Cheers and thanks!

I always think of Murphy's Law - anything can go wrong, even when you have 3 backups ;) lol

It rained all night long and sleeping was soooo nice 😊

Cheers and !BEER

Hahaha, I think that we have discussed that Murphy guy before Hannes.
According to this book, his name was "Edward Murphy"

"According to the book A History of Murphy's Law by author Nick T. Spark, differing recollections years later by various participants make it impossible to pinpoint who first coined the saying Murphy's law. The law's name supposedly stems from an attempt to use new measurement devices developed by Edward Murphy."

Interesting reading on that site.

Oh yeah, the rain's song at night certainly makes for a peaceful sleep!

Cheers and thanks!

Yes, when I have heard that saying "Murphy's Law" for the first time years ago I needed to know more about it and informed myself.

The rain has stopped here and now I can't sleep anymore in the office ;) lol

Cheers and !BEER

It certainly has an interesting history Hannes!

Well, you can always sing yourself to sleep, or count goats jumping over a fence hahaha.

Cheers and thanks!

When I start to sing I will wake up the all neighbors within one kilometer and when I count the goats I want to jump over the fence too and run with them 🤣
