Appreciate Beauty of Nature with @phortun: round 120

in Amazing Nature2 years ago

Hi there my Hivean friends and followers!

Welcome to the 120th round of my special weekly photo challenge known as Appreciate Beauty of Nature with @phortun :)

I know a lot of photo contests with nature as the main theme were/are/will be hosted by various people on the Hive blockchain but I wanted to come up with something more than just another photo contest where participants would submit their best natural photos. Therefore, I decided to go for quite an unusual concept that I am going to introduce in the following lines.

The aim of the Appreciate Beauty of Nature with @phortun photo challenge is not to make you dig up your photo archives and submit the best pictures of nature that you have ever taken. Instead, I want you guys to go out and appreciate the beauty of our nature right now.

The internet (and the Hive blockchain as well) is flooded with picture perfect shots of landscapes, mountains, forests, beaches etc. taken years ago. But this is not what I want to see in this challenge. I want to see shots that may not be necessarily stunning but they must be fresh, proving that you have just physically spent some time outdoors in the fresh air. But remember that nature comes in many forms. It doesn´t have to be a pristine jungle or a deep remote forest. An urban park, a botanical garden, a little grove on the outskirts of your town - pretty much any place with some trees, plants, rocks, bodies of water or any other natural features would be just as fine ;)

Obviously, there is no way for me to verify whether the photo that you submit in the challenge is really fresh or if it was even taken by you so I am relying on your honesty guys. The prizes for the winners (as described below) are more symbolical than overly motivating so I don´t expect too much fraudulent behavior in this challenge anyway.

I want to keep the rules of this challenge as simple and benevolent as possible so let´s agree on just this:

Only one entry (photo) per person per round.

The photo must be yours and not older than one week.

Add a few words about the photo, at least where and when you took it.

You can start submitting your entries to this round in the comment section below from now until the next round.

Prior to publishing the next round post, I will pick 3 winners, give my full upvote on their entries and feature them in the next round of the challenge. As long as the response is not too overwhelming, I will also try to give some smaller upvotes on all of the other entries to reward all participants.

I might change the concept and/or the rules of the photo challenge later on, depending on how things go. I usually host the challenge on Thursday but when needed for some reason, I can host it on some other day so better check my blog regularly not to miss out on it ;)

To keep up with you guys, I submit my own fresh natural photo to every round´s post too :) Here is my contribution to start out this round:

First of all, I would like to apologize for the delay as I´m rolling out this round of the challenge on Friday and not on Thursday as usually, I was super busy yesterday, sorry about that. A few days ago, I was walking around the so called Central Park here in Prague, Czech Republic and I noticed that a lot of wild roses are blooming these days here. I tried to take some close ups of the blooms but it was not that easy since the blooms are actually quite small (much smaller than with the cultivated roses that you can buy at the florist) and it was also windy that day so the flowers kept moving back and forth. The picture above was probably the best one (i.e. the most focused) of the series ;)

In the last round, we had 9 participants. After some thorough consideration, I decided to pick these 3 winners:

This is my entry for this week; a Four-spotted Chaser. I spotted this four-spotted chaser at the edge of the woods near our campsite in the middle of the Netherlands about an hour ago. Looking forward to all other submissions again!

I'm back!!! I caught a flu/head cold/something yuck 🤧 and have been hiding inside in the warmth. But managed to wake up a little earlier today and enjoyed seeing the early morning sun 🌅 peaking out between the leaves of the trees out my window. Yes, still only going outside when it's the warmest part of the day to get some direct sunlight on my face (and did take this photo out a window) but still, I'm happy to participate this way for at least I'm actively looking for beauty in the world, hey? Thanks for the photo contest @phortun, it's such a lovely idea. 29 May 2022. My front yard, south side of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.

Just some unusually sparse pine forest located next to the castle in medieval town of Siewierz, a little bit north from Katowice. Castle is a part of the famous Eagle Nests' Way, leading from Kraków to Częstochowa. This way is popular because of castles, scenic views and amazing jurrasic rock formations. Picture taken last saturday, while I was on my way along Black Przemsza river.

And here is the castle. Bonus:)

Beautiful forest, thanks for sharing. But I bet the same forest looks pretty scary in the night, it´s interesting how the vibes of a forest change with daylight and darkness :) Oh and thanks for the picture of the caste too, looks nice ;)

An isolated small stone field (if it is larger one, they tend to call it as a stone sea) which I was going by last week during my 27 kilometer long hike. You can find it in the Jeseniky mountains, Czechia.

That´s a very nice place, you must have had a lovely childhood :) Can you just add the location please? Doesn´t have to be too specific, the name of country would do ;) Thanks.

Taken with my iPhone today 5 June, at 13:30h in Casares, South Spain 🇪🇸
It is an area next to an dead end road, high up a mountain. We were out today for some urban exploration of an abandoned sports complex. These grasses shown above were standing out on the parking lot. It was sunny, warm 28 degrees Celsius and the wind just picked up. What made the grasses not stay still hahaha but I wanted to show a very recent photograph today of some nature and plants that could grow abundantly… in this area we weren’t allowed to be 😉 will post about the urbex in a few days 😎
Enjoy your Sunday further @phortun 👋🏻☀️

Thank you for showing us around another interesting place from Southern Spain! I really like your write ups, it makes me feel like I was there with you guys :)

You are welcome @phortun thats nice to hear. 😎 I will continue in this way… to pull you right into the moment.
It was so exciting there… preparing the post for tomorrow 😉

Let me join this week…
In this photo we can see:
Morty riding Guru…
Guru trying to start a play with Rick…

Nice one, thanks man 👍

Congrats to the winners. Your challenge might turn to insect photography in nature :)

Haha that´s right, people love to share insect close ups to my challenge and it´s perfectly fine with me, micro nature is also nature ;) Cannot wait to see what kind of entries we will get in the new round!
