Punctilious Coffee at Petit Peyton

"Petit Peyton, a retro coffee shop with a theme of traveloque café
blending British Victorian and Thai Colonial style."

Greeting Cinnamon Cup Coffee Community! First of all, that's a lot of Cs 😂 and second, hello there! I'm NomNomNoodle, a first-timer here in this community and I must say, normally to anyone who knew me, I'm totally not a coffee admirer. I even consider putting myself on the other spectrum of that, truthfully speaking.

However, the other day I had the chance of running into a pretty cool cafe here in Bangkok. I'd like to share about it here on Hive. Perhaps, anyone who's in Bangkok right now, seeing this post would get to try it too.

☕️ Petit Peyton ☕️

One of my friends was reading about this place for a while and the outside place looks as captivating. I found myself already inside and ordered a cup of coffee.

Petit Peyton Traveloque Cafe is truly a combination of coffee and a vintage vibe. They use the play-on-words on their name as Petit Peyton can be read in a Thai word that means "punctiliously".

☕️ Inside the Cafe ☕️

The place was decorated vintagely. I don't know if that's even a word, but it is. Every corner is a photo spot that you can just go with a cup of coffee, you'll look like you're in a vintage magazine.

They installed a vintage hotel bell wall like the ones I saw in one of those period movies, but instead of putting room numbers, they put names of many sections in Bangkok. I think it's a pretty cool idea.

Above the counter is the vintage kitchenware. I hope they're not gonna fall onto our heads while we order. That'll be tragic for my first time here in Petit Peyton.

This is what the counterbar looks like. They offered good-looking croissants, but that day we were super full, so we didn't even notice it. I can't think of any other purpose for the outdated measuring machine to be here, except for decoration. It fits nicely there too.

☕️ The Coffee Orders ☕️

☕️ Iced Caramel Macchiato ☕️

Let me start with mine. The menu is called "Iced Caramel Macchiato".

For a coffee amateur (like me), who stumbled on this post. Macchiato is a drink of espresso coffee with a dash of frothy steamed milk. The purpose of Macchiato is to allow the taste of the espresso to still shine through the steamed milk. A macchiato is perfect for those who find espresso too harsh in flavor, but a cappuccino too weak.

At Petit Peyton, the barista told me that this Macchiato is one of the recommended menus for people, who like milky coffee. I'm, for sure, not gonna go for espresso on the rock. I thought to myself, I'll give it a go.

I guess I learned my lesson the hard way as I drank it without mixing the coffee and the milk together. So bitter! But after I mixed them up and drank them together, it was actually not bad. It's not as bad as I usually feel about coffee. The caramel helped tone down the bitterness of the coffee and all in all, I quite enjoyed it.

☕️ Iced Americano ☕️

My friend ordered an iced americano and just as I imagine, it was super bitter. But she's always a coffee drinker so it's normal for her. She said it's pretty strong and does the job as a cup of coffee should, but frankly, quite pricey.

☕️ Iced Salty Caramel Latte ☕️

Two of my friends were persuaded to try one of Petit Peyton's recommended menu; Iced Salty Caramel Latte. The menu that I had hesitated to order the or not, but after seeing them make up their mind to order this. I thought I could just try them.

I was curious how it's different from my macchiato and the internet explained:

The only milk found in a macchiato is steamed milk. Whereas a latte has a combination of steamed milk and a layer of foamed milk on top. source

And as both Macchiato and Latte had caramel (here in Petit Peyton), mine was more delicious. I think a Latte has a stronger taste of coffee. So, I was glad I had Macchiato.

In conclusion, the place was nice, even for a coffee avoider like me. Because I still like to be in a beautifully decorated place. They offered more savory and sweet things to eat. Unfortunately, that day we were already full, so we have to move that to next time. If you love coffee and ever get the chance to come to Bangkok, give Petit Peyton a chance.

Stay awake and keep drinking your choice of coffee, guys

You're very welcome! See you around:)

Love how you painted their faces jajaja funny, yeah there are those who drink coffee with the only purpose of a energy boost, thats me always dark coffee no sugar but when we go out I do buy what ever other sweet coffee just to enjoy it, besides my wife is the total opposite she doesnt drink coffee as I do but loves frappe from all kind of caramel and chocolate mix, vintage stuff is always interesting because it makes you think about the history of it

That’s such a great explanation and a great example for me to go try little more frappe menu. So, I’ll get more used to it. I guess I’ll try to see then how well it helps boost my energy 😁

Oh haha thank you. I find it’s easy to just paint them myself and also give them
more touch on my art 😂 if there’s any

I wonder what prompted you to have drank the coffee alone without mixing it with the milk, lol
The pictures are really nice though

Thank you. It was a little dark in there, but my phone tried her darndest 😂.

Well, at first I thought the milk gonna just flow through, but boy! was I wrong haha

I think it's a lovely place and the presentation of the coffee looks great, they have taken care of every detail and I love that.

This place has a very peculiar decoration that makes it very striking and pleasant, it undoubtedly attracts attention and invites you to come in and stay to enjoy the experience.

Thanks for sharing your experience with us.☕

Good day.

Thank you for your welcoming comment :) I hope people know more about the place. I find it nice and cool

I guess I learned my lesson the hard way as I drank it without mixing the coffee and the milk together.
🤣 Not with coffee but this has happened to me before 🙈

I can't believe you felt that latte had a stronger bitterness than your macchiato; it must've been something about that mix.

The place looks beautiful. I love vintage. You girls seem to have enjoyed yourselves. Thank you so much for the tour ☕️

If I remember correctly, the barista said that with the Macchiato I’d feel more caramel and vanilla than the latte, which had a little stronger taste coffee.

Not sure how they achieved that but they both a little different and I find it quite nice.

Well, baristas know their business. The images of the beautiful café still linger on my mind. I'd love to have a place like that one here ❤️

wow like the collectables, you have good time there.
many regards

The interior looks really cool!
