We had a warmish day here at the lake. It was typically a grey dome day meaning the skies were grey and sunless with a uniform cover of clouds. At least we are thankful it will be about freezing tonight. I would be inclined to take my plants out to the balcony so I can paint, but one more day will make a boost to the temps that will mean a world of difference to my little green friends!
Can you check out those buds- soon to be leaves. Only if they knew they were a month behind Virginia in the bloom department!

So it is a holiday here in the US of A: Mothers Day. Today I spent some time unpacking my earlier life with mom. We got along famously all my life. She taught me all about art and gardening and even fishing. Sadly, she also taught me how Alzheimer's disease can destroy so much so quickly. We certainly had some rough times near the end. Mom never wanted to go into a nursing home. In fact she was terrified of them. Well she never went in one. We cared for her with hospice in home care. It was not an easy job, and I hope to never have to do it again.

I actually told about the salad so then I could with less guilt tell you about this. Nice brownie with a couple of cream puffs. I broke the one open on the left so you can get an idea about the cream inside of it. Now before you yell, remember I did have a salad 😲
The kids spoiled me with a surprise of this bluebird fridge magnet. Aren't bluebirds just not the best!?!

I like the mandarin oranges in the salad! It adds just enough sweetness to make it sinfully good. I like fruit and nuts in my salad and then, the fact that I can still call it a salad.
It sounds like a stellar day! How can one go wrong toiling about the memories and pizza and punch? It surely makes the dome fade, doesn't it? Philly Cheese Steak? I can honestly say I have never had one on a pizza, but, it does sound inviting! Philly Cheesesteak sandwiches are the best!

I agree. What is one more day without painting? It's Michigan. Wait an hour and it will all change for you. It sure is getting pretty up there right now. It is actually sort of nice that you will be able to enjoy the best part of the year up there.
As for Alzheimer's and your mom. I am always sorry to see anyone leave this world that way. It is such a destructive disease for the person and for the family.
