Welcome to my Beautifully Sublime Sunday
Well it was a quiet weekend here at Lake Wobegon. Lol no, I am just joking. That is a silly reference for fans of the show A Prairie Home Companion, from back in the day. However it was an eventful day here at the lake because, being the start of Autumn, we decided to make our yearly pilgrimage to the pumpkin market!
It's not a huge market, rather it's just a small farm store on the side of the road. They have a nice selection of pumpkins as well as gourds and corn stalks. They also sell a huge selection of plants in the greenhouse like cacti and succulents. Of course what is most impressive is that they have every color imaginable in mums!

They also sell food stuff like carrots onions apples you name it.
Oh did I mention they have shelves of every kind of jelly and preserves one can imagine!
Oh course we ended up buying way too much stuff!
Yes even I momentarily lost control of the wallet
At least a good time was had by all.

Those Chrysanthemums are huge! I got one this year already, It is so big, I know I will be sorry when I plant it in the garden. (I may take it to the shore) It is huge and next year, it will come up huge in my garden! My garden is already full. First-world problems. :/
That is a nice size roadside, smaller than usual, but, you just helped support the little guy. Nice!
I didn't buy it when I went but all those pumpkins are such a happy sight. Lots of good memories surrounding pumpkin farms, pumpkin patches, and the traditional family carving parties. Autumn is such a nice place to look forward to.
I have visions of the door-to-door salesman, selling those gourds for a nickel! I'll bet you got lots of smiles!

It is a small market, but a good sized road side stand. Fully stocked of goodness all year, it is right at the farm and is open till 6pm every night. They are a hard working family!
I really wasn't making light of them and I am sure that they are a very hard working family. I know that you said that they are higher priced than going to a regular store but I will take that any day of the week.

No of course I never thought you were making light of them. I was just trying to convey the homey atmosphere and overall coolness of the place. They have a fridge unit and sell beef and eggs. Loads of jerky etc. It leaves you with a good feeling to support the place.

Well, that's what truck is for. You can sell those Pumpkins door to door on your truc ks but you'll need to do better than 5 cents. 😎
I don't normally buy Mums in fall, but for some reason, for the last few weeks I'm kind of thinking I want at least one. Maybe I could get one of those where several colors are in the same pot.
Love seeing all those pumpkins and hearing the story of you being the door-to-door gourd sales boy. Good memories of back in the day when being able to do something like that was relatively safe for a child.
