Yesterday the weather did not kiss us here at St.Petersburg -- it was rainy thru all the day. Actually, I did not even get out at all... so today in the morning I looked out, noticed the weather is calm, and simply teasing pushing me out. So, a little photo-walk with camera on the way to the office simply was a must!
I hope you will like the visuals too. Autumn is charming!
I followed my babygirl to the school (a bit, just for 10 min), and found myself in the neighboring park...
... enjoying a fungi quest (as always), ducks, seagulls, maple leaves... actually I enjoyed all sorts of leaves! And of course, acorns.
I do not feel good that this time @barbara-orenya is not going to repeat her #season-hunt challenge, like in 2021. But on another hand... I do understand that good creative things should not be repeated heavily, time after time... once is enough, right?..
A lot of fungi, edible and not, are popping up around. Pholiota squarrosa' is the most photo-friendly of them. In the past I already have found and photographed this pretty well-spread autumn mushroom a hundred times, but every time I see it I can’t simply pass by: I stop and take new photos. These mushroom families are so touching! especially when they are young, and not yet overmatured.
The park has different trees, with very different lineage; there are many lindens and oaks among them. At some spots the ground is littered with (last year) acorns like a spent cartridge cases.
Some are still 'sleeping', and some show the signs they awaken.

The composition, the depth of field and autumn colors. Stunning images. I wonder how amazing it would be to visit st. Petersburg to see architecture and contemplate about a city that sunk. See an entrance on the first floor etc.
Oh, SPb is a nice city -- its historical center, all the palaces and museums etc -- excluding the weather, haha. But if we talk about the colours and all the autumn beauty -- it is not worth visiting, I mean, your local parks or forests are of the same 'quality' -- or maybe even better! 🙏 Of course, I will not try to dissuade you, on the contrary, of course, come someday, I hope that the stars will form in such a pattern in the sky that this will become possible, and we will all lead a normal life (without Putin and all these imperial manners) ... I will be extremely happy to arrange a joint photo-walk (or walks) around the city, with or without !BEER

I read something about st Petersburg originally being build on a swamp?
More or less correct. It's not like Holland, whose territory is largely below sea level, but there are sufficient parallels... and it has not been washed away ( so far :))) but really suffered a lot from floods. During its entire history there were more than 300 floods! and several of them were Great Floods. By the end of XX century, eventually it was protected by a dam, now floods do not threaten it.

I currently work on a book about the Great Flood of 1924 (I do the layout and design of the album). I will definitely make some post about it, I have such a mass of hot photos at my disposal that my hands are just shaking from the desire to share it all :)))

даааа уш! солнечный, хыхы 😁 всё солнце пришлось дофотошопить, дождя нету - и на том спасибо, так сказать... у меня тоже не особенно получается. когда видел в окно что они есть, не мог вырваться. а сейчас и нету... да и знаешь, лишний раз в город уже выходить как-то не тянет. мало ли что. стараюсь так сказать придерживаться режима изоляции меня от нашего дорогого общества, во всяком случае его существенной части 😪
