When the new day's light slowly envelops the landscape, creating a kaleidoscope of color - it is perfectly reminiscent of my childhood, the contentment of youth, where the sun shines clear to your soul
I was raised to see the positive light of things. Perhaps raised is the wrong word, it was present, always. My parents chose to be happy and not fall to discontent. Life was not perfect, but, there was much happiness. And we had each other. Sometimes, that was the best part, especially as we grew into adults.
Let my heart breathe for a moment or three
Easy to get caught up in reminders of the past
Preparations for the future
Forgetting what happens
When it's all scattered to the day
The prevailing beauty of the day keeps my head looking down, obscuring the shadows from crowding my life. Illuminate the grace of the day.
May there always be a bright spot of beauty in my day. That is why there is #alwaysaflower.
Thirty seconds too late, but, a parting shot as I head off into the sunset. This shot is for @sepiasaturday by @old-guy-photos. And for the record, @c0ff33@, the shot is kind of nondescript, but, they really are pelicans, I promise you.
And just like that, this post is over. Come back tomorrow and we'll do it again! I also just realized today is Friday.

Oh I am so happy to see you post a sepia! Wow and what an awesome shot it it. You do know it hits me just right 2 ways. First it is an outstanding minimalist shot. I am a huge fan of minimalist photography and jealous of those that can pull it off. Second, I love to see subjects repeat in a photo. Add that to the minimalist feel and you have a very wall worthy print right there. I think that one would really sell. I would trade you a fruitcake for that shot. 🙂

Ohh. From the first few words, I experienced an exhalation of pure bloody joy!
You words translate your mood and reminiscence perfectly from start to finish Denise. It is immediately apparent you have that wonderful ability to transcend the chaos of the world and go to 'that place' that so many are unable to gain access. I am not suggesting you are zen-like 24/7 I am certain that just liek the rest of us some events test more than others lol. We are human, right?
To those of us who have slipped gracefully past the age of 21, we have both passed that milestone ever so slightly :D This very line could conjure up something melancholy and evoke blue feelings that are not quite as present when we are very young. Experiences transform us as the years pass.
I can tell from the mood of the piece that you write these words from the view of being able to think on happy times and memories with joy, now that is a skill well worth developing. I know so many people 'owned by their past.'
The images accompanied and enhanced the narrative beautifully.
Thanks for the huge, fun, dollop of optimism and positivity. Just imagine if that idea could go viral, what could we do???

Well thank you so much! I am glad that you can pull something from my words. Sometimes the posts are so eclectic, they become hard to follow, as to whether I am talking in the present or the past.
"That place" he's truly a very zen-like existence. But yes, we are all human and to tend to falter at the unlikeliest Times.
And while teenage angst was a wonderful place to be, I wouldn't go back there for anything! I can sit here and Ponder, and even feel a few of those things but with a much better insight and the knowledge of the past.
I want to let you know just how much I appreciate your thoughts and words. It is always nice to read a comment like this. I periodically become too for both so I am really okay with it! I hope you have a most wonderful weekend!

You are fortunate to be able to grasp that feeling. So often it seems just out of my reach! Childhood had a magic that can be quite elusive for adults.
Thank you so much for your kind words. I was afraid it was not enough words to post, but, some days, less is better. Of course, some days, you just cannot cover things well enough, no matter how hard you try.
I was very fortunate to have a wonderful childhood. I had eight siblings and we didn't have a lot of money, but, we weren't poor. But, we did have a bag of magic. Oh, the magic was free for all who believed.
