I recently had a day off, and decided to take advantage of the beautiful weather. The sun was shining. The day was perfect for taking pictures, and I knew exactly where I wanted to go. East Side Pockets is located on Thayer St. in Providence. I felt the need to treat myself to a pretty sweet meal at my favorite wrap shack. After which I could stroll around and do a little sightseeing.
After lunch, I began my walk. Not to far into it, I ran into this gentleman. His name is Jose Ruiz Corredera.
Jose was the most charismatic person, I've met in a long time. His enthusiasm and genuine smile drew me to his stand. He made you feel like a welcomed guest. His merchandise was his proud treasure. He was seemed to take joy in sharing them with me.
Jose is also pretty talented. He took pride in his handed braided necklaces. Stressing clearly that they were braided from a single leather strand.
I felt like I was being guided through a precious exhibit, and Jose was my own personal tour guide.
Jose explained and pointed out the hidden details in the different treasures.
Occasionally holding one of his favorites for a closer look.
He explain that many of his items were things that he found while walking, and decided that he could make something out of it. Like this bottle that he occasionally found, yet did not know what it belonged to.
There were plenty of little treasures to pick from.
In the end I decided on this cool little tin classic.
After a little negotiation. We reached a mutually agreed upon price. Though I will say that I didn't put up much of a fight. Honestly was just enjoying the experience. If your ever in Providence I invite you to check out Thayer Street. Hopefully you'll get a chance to run into Jose. Overall it was a great day off. Definitely left me smiling and appreciating that I am alive.
I hope you enjoy my entry into the daily #iamalivechallenge. Hosted by @flaxz, and supported by the #iamalivechallenge community. It's a great challenge, supported by an equally great community.
I invite you to visit my most recent #iamalivechallenge entry title I am alive and spending time with little critters. It's full of pictures of little critters I saw while browsing Pet Smart and waiting for my dog to get his haircut. https://hive.blog/hive-155221/@dreamingirwin/i-am-alive-and-spending-time-with-little-critters
Wow looks like you had a wonderful day out and found 2 priceless treasures- a lively human being and all of his gorgeous weavings and other bits and pieces.
I love the carved animals!
And definitely a good score on the tin bike and side car. That looks like maybe 70's??? What do you think?

You know I forgot to look into the date of the car. Though what I find impressive was that the car still worked. Jose cranked the wheel, and it drive circles on the side walk. I found myself getting giddy as I watched it drive over the sidewalk.
Wow that is so cool that it still works there.
I personally think that due to the good condition it's in and the age, I reckon that you got a little gems there.
Just don't let the American or Canadian Pickers get to it cause it's worth more than they'll give you for it! 😀

And can I ask, are you referring to Providence MA?
I didn't know there was a Providence ma no RI
Oh my mistake, I could have sworn that one of my old friends in the US once (20yrs ago...) told me about a great city called Providence in Mass, near Cape Cod I think...
Now you've got me thinking! 😀
I'm going to google it now!
Sorry RI?
Rhode Island
👍
Ok, never got there unfortunately, but it has always sounded oike a great place! when I get back to the states, I'll definitely come and say hi! 😃
RI is pretty. The people are nice too. Providence is your typical city, but overall it's beautiful.
