Wednesday Walk - A Helping Hand

It's Wednesday. It’s a perfect day for a walk, for #WednesdayWalk. I haven't been able to post anything on this topic of walking for the last two weeks, but I'm here now. With one walk in the small town of Altea.

The city has two parts, one older part, with old houses in the centre. The other part of the city is a newer part, with a different set of streets and buildings. Mostly newer buildings of a couple of floors, some parks, squares and schools.

I walked there about ten days ago, I don't remember the exact day. There was almost nobody on the streets, it was about noon and strange that no people, no cars passing by.

Wondering there, I passed a high school. At least, I heard some voices from the school, so it was a sign there are still living people here. The wall of the school is high, concrete. Not to be such an ugly empty concrete wall, some paintings adorn that wall.

The wall is long, so I tried to take photos from this angle, to see as much as possible. But there will be some details shown too. Like you saw in the cover photo, a hand. Also some other details.

A mountain can be seen here in the background (a mountain that is surrounding the town). Also the sea and some buildings. So the new part of the town representation.

The hand we already saw... I see it as a helping hand that can take the whole town and take care of it...in some magical way. But there is also the dome of the church from the old part of the town, the smaller houses and again the sea, pebbles and sun :)

The message of this would be: keep listening to some great music :)

Fish... Altea was a town living from fishing before tourism came into action. It is good to remember the old good profession that sustained the settlement during centuries.

Small detail :)

That was the blue part of the wall, here from the other side

In that particular moment when I was taking those photos of the blue part of the wall (there is one other part also, green, that you will see in a few moments) a train passed right there.

DSC_3025.JPG

First you would say just a train, nothing else to see on it. But then I noticed that it was painted also, just a perfect match to the wall with those graffiti on it.

Green part of the wall:

As I mentioned, the other part of the wall is painted with green colours.
Maybe as a brief reminder of agriculture, and that we should not neglect it. Behind the town, in the valley of the mountain, there is a part with orchards and gardens. We often walk there, it is nice to see that there are still those who take care of the gardens, although many orchards have been abandoned.

I don't know why some details are painted upside down.

Cute cow, isn't it?

That was all for my #WednesdayWalk tour, showing a painted wall of a high school. All the photos were taken in Altea, Spain. Thank you for your time and that you accompanied me on this walk.

Great :)) 🍍

Very cool mural, the both blue and green...

Thanks for sharing all these pics on The StreetArt Community.

Many thanks for the cross post ☺️🙏

Maybe the scene was painted upside down, as a reminder how the world is trying to destroy nature Gabs. Global warming has destroyed many farms with drought and fires and forests are being stripped right now as I type this in the name of "progress"

Lovely paintings on that wall and the matching train.

You are right Zac, maybe it is upside down to emphasize that need of getting back to the roots and stop destroying the nature. Probably. I would have to find out who made it, I didn't see some signature of the artist or of a project who could paint the mural.

Thank you so much for commenting :)

P.S. I listened today to Stairway to heaven... hehe, would need to cut the length of the song a bit :)

I think that the painter is some kind of grafitti artist and many of them have the habit of not signing their stuff in the belief that it belongs to the world.

Everyone is sending out messages about the destruction but nobody is listening.
So they just become messages in the wind that the authorities wish to be blown away.

Happy that you are listening to the song and there are also some other great versions of it.
Maybe you want to listen to a guitar version of Stairway to Heaven by Gabriella Quevedo.
She also played a few other insrumentals.

People will listen one day. Moreover, not just listen, people have the power to change something, with their understanding and attitude, then taken into actions. We have to have faith :) But yes, the current situation is maybe not the best, I know.

Hm, thanks for the suggestion, I will take a look at that version

Have a great day Zac 🙌

Good morning Gabs, a quick reply here and then I must go out again.
People will only listen when it starts to threaten them directly and that day will come soon.
We simply cannot go on like this and things just have to changas it starts with each of us.
We just refuse plastic of any kind and we all need to change the shop owners minds to supply the public with plastic bags. That could be a start across the world.

Hope that you will also have a good day!

Good evening Zac, I was so busy all day today, sorry for a few hours of delay with responding.

Yes, we all have to start with changes in our habits. I dond use anymore plastic bags from the supermarkets and I am trying to buy fresh food without plastic. But is not always possible and when dont have time I just buy food in supermarkets and everything comes pre-packed in plastic. Everything. So I see how much of plastic one household uses just for one day, it is incredible (and worrying).

I had a busy day but a good one, hope you were doing great too :)

Good morning Gabs and you wrote this reply 8 hours ago, so I think that our time differences is about a few hours and we are both busy people. No need anymore for sorries.

I read somewhere that a city block of 10 houses could produce a ton of plastic waste every month. An amazing figure and it shows thec trouble that we are in.
Sadly it doesn't seem to be a main news item and the media doesn't take it up in fear of aleniating their clients. They are more interested in shocking sellers like murder and mayhem, as that sells their papers.

What they don't realize is that soon they will have no more clients if we all continue to destroy nature.
Therefore it is essential to get this story out there every day so that people can learn to protect nature.

Yeah, we are doing well and will pop out to visit a flea market this morning.

Blessings and !BEER

Hey, bropiano! Nice murals! I like the colours there and some of the designs are really cool! Thanks for taking us on a little walk around Tio Town 😀

Thank you Nicky-Mickey man ( like this new one? 🤣)

I forgot that there were some others in just a few street further... Maybe some next time I will bring more

From here I really like the most the hand and the cow 🤩

Lol! Nicky-Mickey? Might have to keep thinking 😀

That's good, you can put them in for next week's walk! At least you have a post ready for then 😁

If I get there and take photos :D

Oh, I focus on the train! The real street art :)

Hey, have a great day for you.

Hehe yes, the train graffiti are cool usually.

There are same real masterpieces of train graffiti around the globe :)

The rails of this train are protected, it cannot be entered. Somewhere it is fenced with this kind of wire and somewhere with concrete walls. But the artists found their way somehow so they go through and draw on that concrete. They are cool.

:)

Ah you bring back happy memories for me with your photos of Altea. I livrd in La Nucia until 6 years ago. I bought my first chakra stones from On The Rocks shop. Is it still there?
And the graffiti is really cool. My favourite part is the old town and the river walk near to the sports compound and skate park.
Thank you for sharing the photos from your walk. They are beautiful 💚❤ xx

You have lived in La Nucia??? I can not believe 😍😍

What a coincidence, you came to hive open mic and I listened to you and now we meet in my walk post? This is incredible!!

Sending you a lot of love 💞 and I hope we keep in touch 😇

Yes,my youngest son was born in a hospital in Benidorm we moved to Sark when he was 4 months old.
What a small world we live in. It's so lovely to connect with you here. Yes let's keep in touch, I look forward to reading more of your posts. 💕
Muchas gracias y mucho amore xx 🤗💚

Yes, it is a small world :)

Gracias a ti también 😍

Looks like you had a great midweek walk, absolutely love that wall. 😎👌

Thank you 😊

So good that they (still don't know who) decided to paint it 🌠 :)

Looks like you had another lovely colorful walk the murals and Tio Town looks just beautiful 😇

Hey brother in colour @kohsamui99. You see, I found both blue and green, in one wall! It had to be shared here, without doubts.

But I have to tell you one thing. Tio Town is not the real name of the town :)

Tio is just a word sometimes @nickyhavey uses as a nickname for me. We have that funny joking time inventing different nicknames, so here it was that tio word. The town is called Altea :)

Thank you so much for stopping 😇 🙌

Hahaha it must now be called Tio Town, the home of bropiano. In fact Altea sounds like Tio (almost) 🤣

I will go the the Major of the town and write a special request 🤣

Hello sister in color you never disappoint me with your awesome colors a great find and we will keep it to Tio Town it seems to have a better rhythm to it maybe you can write a song about it...lol 😄

Have a great weekend @mipiano and keep chasing them colors 👍

Ok, so the new name of the town stays :D Song about it? That would be a funny one 🤣

Have a good weekend you too 😇

I am sure you could make it a top hit 😄

Good to see you @cuddlekitten here. I would paint a cat to the mural, if I would be the artist who panted it :D
