Three seasons in one day | My #WednesdayWalk

in Wednesday Walk2 years ago

Hi everyone and Happy New Year!
Be happy, be healthy and never stop dreaming :)

I am glad to publish my first post for the #wednesdaywalk challenge hosted by @tattoodjay.

Well, today I have a question for... myself. Is it winter or am I getting seasons wrong? According to the calendar, it is the beginning of January and here in South-East Europe, it feels like May. Do not get me wrong, I am not complaining :)

For those unfamiliar with the climate here, I can mention that typical temperatures for early January are between -15 (minus) and 5 degrees Celsius with a lot of snow, and we are currently enjoying spring weather with temperatures between 10 and 18 degrees combined with pleasant sunny weather.

My morning walk I did in the park, called "Nikola Vaptsarov" next to my hometown.
Just imagine: It is Winter, nature is full of Autumn colors, and the temperatures are typical for the Spring.

It feels like having 3 seasons in one day :)

Yellow, orange, green, blue, white (clouds, not snow 😁)

... and more green and orange.

As I walked I saw several large puddles that were quite clear.
I wanted to make a few mirror shots combined with nature around.
Then found out that it would be more interesting if I get only the mirror image of the trees and the sun looking behind the branches.

I approached the "tower" slowly. You might say, it is a nice tower.
Yes, it used to be a very interesting place to visit.
It is now closed due to the need for restoration.

For me, this tower has a very emotional value.
When I was a small child in this place there was a big restaurant, which my parents loved to visit.
Now everything left is a tower in ruins and leftovers from the restaurant buildings.

I close my eyes and can still see the tables, chairs, waiters, can hear the din of the people.
In reality, is just ruins left.
One of these moments when I wish I could turn back time... 🙏

A few minutes further down the road between the trees emerges the oldest observatory in the Balkans, known as Giordano Bruno National Astronomical Observatory and Planetarium.
I managed to get a few shots through the fence.
Unfortunately, the coronavirus has also affected scientific activity.

In the oval building on the right, there is a huge telescope with which any visitor can observe the starry night sky.

At the earliest opportunity, I will do a special post on this landmark of my hometown.

On the way back I met two kids playing on the old swings. We call them "the Rockets".
I suppose they are more than 40 years old, as I remember them as a kid.
Metallic, heavy, and dangerous, but still liked by both kids and their parents.

It is another beautiful and warm January day. Will there be snow this winter? I actually wish it would all turn white. Each season has its own charm, and winter has yet to show its own.

Thank you for your time and support!
You are welcome to dive into my future posts.
I will keep on drawing stories with pictures from my trips.
Have a beautiful day, be healthy, and may the force be with you!

Yours,
George

For the past 8 years, I have been traveling and working as a concierge and tour guide onboard cruise ships I feel lucky that my hobby to visit new places and taking pictures became my profession. In my free time, I enjoy reading books, playing snooker, swimming, and cooking healthy food. If you like the content I create, do not hesitate to upvote, leave a comment or feedback. And last but not least - Thank you for reading till the end.

The weather patterns sure seemed messed up around the world these days, here it is up and down allover the place

glad to have you join the Wednesday walk and what a beautiful walk it was

Thanks for joining Wednesday Walk :), I truly enjoy exploring the world virtually each Wednesday seeing walks from all around the globe and feeling I am there and experiencing it all myself, such as I did in your post just now :)

Thank you so much for your time and kind words, @tattoodjay 😊 I am glad that you joined me virtually and enjoyed my morning walk.
Since I became a driver I don't miss the snow as much as when I was a kid :) But I kind of feel sorry for the kids that they can't enjoy playing in the snow and sledding.
I love the nature walks and will definitely become a regular participant in the challenges in the Wednesday Walk community 😎

Most welcome, as I get older I am not such a big fan of the snow and cold weather, and when I was growing up we seldom if ever got snow and not enough for sledding i think I was 20 the first time I did sledding and had a blast

Looking forward to seeing your future Wednesday Walks

Damn! You really brought me with your walk through those awesome photos. That photo with the puddle and trees and reflection is amazing. And the contrast of orange hues and green colors are refreshing to the eyes.

I haven't been able to experience winter, snow or those four beautiful seasons you have there. That is still on my bucket list. But I envy you have a nearby park like that you can always go to for a quick stroll.

Thank you, @indayclara 🙏 Your words are a huge motivation for me.

You know, I've never appreciated the color palette the 4 seasons provide until now. I wish you could visit Europe in each of the seasons. In case you visit Bulgaria remember that temperatures in July and August reach up to 40 degrees Celsius and in January and February up to -25 degrees (minus). Spring and autumn are more pleasant with temperatures between 15 and 30 degrees.
Hope you will enjoy my future posts too 😁

I do wish I could visit Europe too but all this covid shit makes traveling hard these days. My goal is to go on a backpacking trip in Europe and perhaps live there. 😊.

Read your introblog too. You have a cool job and a lot would be envious of that. Are you still doing that? Like working on a boat? You seem already familiar with Filipino culture too.

I love my profession very much and miss traveling too. The whole situation at the moment makes it really difficult to plan and do a trip abroad. Hopefully in 2022 things will get better and we will be free to travel again.
And the Philippines 😍 Oh, my God. I am a big fan of the culture and especially the wonderful food 😋 Luckily every year at least 10% of my colleagues come from the Philippines. After 8 years together I can honestly say that they are very loyal, dedicated, and trustworthy friends. Actually, I'm planning to make a post about the crew life onboard cruise ships and there you'll see how well we live together, and how much fun we have🤡

In those 8 years, you haven't explored the Philippines yet? Nor southeast asia? Tskkkk. There is still so much to explore here that is if you love the beaches too...

Well, I'm excited to read on your future blogs @vedarg! Until then, send my regards to Love and Val and the rest of the kitten crew. 😍
