I painted the 5th and 6th pictures yesterday, and I'm pretty tired, so I'm going to make this one for Design Festa.
It would have been less work for me if I had outsourced the design work, but I hate making piles of inventory more than anything. So I did some research and found out that small lots are 50 or even 100 pieces. If they would have printed at least 10 pieces, I might have asked them to outsource. This would have ruined the paper by tearing it or something while I was storing the stock pile at home.
So I made six one-of-a-kind uchiwa fans with one-of-a-kind patterns, although the price is higher because they are hand-painted.
We hope you will use them at summer festivals and fairs in yukata (summer kimono). But if you don't want to use them, you can have a framer make a frame large enough to hold the uchiwa and frame it.
It is April from today, and the Design Festa will be held in May, but I haven't finished all the works yet. It is hard for me to find time to paint. But I will try to prepare when I have a little time.

昨日5枚目と6枚目を描いて、結構疲れたのでデザインフェスタに向けて作るのはこれぐらいにします。
デザインを外注にすれば私の手間は少なくて済んだのですが、私は在庫の山を作ってしまうのが何より嫌なのです。それで調べてみたら小ロットといっても50本とか、100本とか。せめて10本くらいから印刷してくれたら外注に頼んだかもしれませんが。これだと在庫の山を自宅に保管しているうちに紙を破ったりなどしてダメにしてしまうでしょう。
それで手描きですから値段は高くなりますが、世界に１つの柄の、1点物のうちわを6つ作りました。
浴衣を着て夏祭りや縁日のおともに是非使ってほしいです。でも使うのがもったいなければ、うちわが入る大きさの額を額縁店で作ってもらって額装するのもよいでしょう。
今日から4月で、5月にデザインフェスタがあるのですが、まだ作品が揃っていません。なかなか絵を描く時間がとれないのがしんどいです。でも少しでも時間のある時に準備していきたいと思います。
