Over the last few weeks a few friends of mine have been working through some thoughts based around a book by Viktor E Frankl called, Man's search for meaning.
The people I'm talking about have had to do difficult things in life and, as often is the case with such people, remnants remain, scars and other things, and we have found some interesting thoughts - and found out some things about ourselves - based around the book and thoughts and experiences of its author.
I thought I'd share a few quotes from the fellow, Viktor E Frankl, in a post or two.
"When we are no longer able to change a situation - we are challenged to change ourselves." - Viktor E. Frankl
Feel free to comment with your thoughts or feelings about the quote above if you're so inclined.

My favourite Viktor Frankl quote and the one that resonates most with me 'Our greatest freedom is the freedom to choose our attitude.' I think if more people realised that they can actually choose their attitude the world would be a much finer place.
It's a good one, so simple but if a person was to embrace the concept their forward progression would leap ahead.
not sure which is more difficult at times. changing a situtation or changing oneself.
I agree. Maybe, in changing oneself the situation changes also?
Most likely.
Goes very well with the whole Stoicism thing. We always have the option to take everything as an opportunity to change ourselves. Sounds easy, but is incredibly hard. It makes so much sense in theory, but then real life hits, and suddenly all those great ideas are overwhelmed by emotions.
Self change can be incredibly difficult which then leaves me baffled at some who think they can change others.
I've been using a similar idea in my life lately. Identifying the things I can't change and working on the things I can.
I reckon that's the best way to go.
Going through adversity with a lot of optimism and resilience, and many other things, I think it's the only purpose of living, that's why I always tell myself that no forecast turns off hope and if I have to re-edit it I just stop to listen to myself to quiet my being and re-calibrate, my sense of life.
That seems like a good approach, is it working for you?
G'day, Galenkp.I try to minimize the living truth of no one, not even mine, but when we see a tragic situation or one that impresses us traumatically we can think that everyone will be broken or traumatized. However, everyone has personal resources that help them face the most difficult moments differently.🌹🍀 Have a great weekend.
Indeed, have a good weekend also.
Makes sense, some situations can't be changed so what other alternatives you got? Give up or change approach, nothing else you can do
I've never been much of a quitter, just not in my nature, so I tend to just push on and deal with what comes along I suppose. You?
When it happens, and it's something I care, I tend also to do find a way to get to the goal, it's rare I have up, it's either for something I don't care so not worth the effort or when it's already an obvious lost cause
