A few years ago I ran into a Lego alternative called Sluban and usually would want nothing to do with it because there's no substitute for the quality of Lego and I don't like knock-off shit. But I realised they do military sets, something that the politically correct Lego company do not do, and that got my attention. Since then, I've built a few small sets and not too long ago I decided to see how a larger set would work out and bought one.
This army tank is not massive by my usual Lego standards where I build sets with several thousand individual pieces but it's big enough with 781 pieces and is almost 30 centimetres in length; I think, based on other Sluban builds, it'll be enjoyable to build...and also frustrating.
The problem with Sluban is that the pieces are not made as precisely as Lego, (typical knock-off shit), the quality isn't as good and neither are the instructions, but I've never had any major issues with either so I think I'll be ok with this tank. Along with less quality comes less cost, much less, and there's the fact that because Lego are left-wing woke fucktards they don't make military sets which leaves me having to buy Sluban; I don't mind too much and over time will build more of it and probably investigate some of the other brands that do military stuff as well.

Oh man this tank is so beautiful, that would have been my dream when I was a kid!
The fun is, they make starwars lego with Walkers, ships and such but don't make military because with the latest you grow up violent kids? Lol hypocrite
If my kid will ever want military Lego when he grows up I'll use your posts are reference
Pretty awesome right?
I agree with you man, it's hypocritical of Lego and quite laughable.
i just searched some and they even have this nice carrier
They have some cool stuff for sure.
The tank looks cool and like it would be a nice little challenge. Especially if the instructions end up being shit. I've thought of doing military model builds of some sort a time or two, but just know the limits of my patience and fat guerilla fingers. Do you have a place where you display the completed models? How many do you have? Hope you dont mind me asking.
I have a fairly large cabinet/shelf thing where they usually sit; the larger ones anyway. I have 15 on there at the moment. Some I take apart and bag up to send to my nephew.
oh, I bet Mr. Bonkers loves that and appreciates his Uncle for it very much.
The kids used to put together legos alot, little kits. They would occasionally leave one astray. Of course it would find my bare foot on occasion. I swear there is no worse booby trap than a lego on a bare foot man.
Yeah, he likes it although all of my sets are far too advanced for him...he puts them away and knows he'll get around to building them one day. This makes space for me too, meaning I can get new ones. :)
Oh yeah, stepping on a Lego block with bare feet is widely accepted as the single most excruciating pain in the world.
How could you betray Lego?! My heart is breaking! Lego is crying!!! 😂😂😂
Lego needs to harden the fuck up, stop crying, and make military sets. They won't though, too many left wing snow flakes to pander to.
No, nooo!! Star Wars sets and Indiana Jones sets are Lego's priority. It seems like you don’t know how many military sets there are from Star Wars. Buy those sets, mister! 😂😂 You can build a tank and a starship all together! 😂
Star Wars is now owned by Disney, another woke, left wing mob of snow flakes.
Oh yes, fu..ck Disney…😂
The tank looks beautiful. Building with Legos is relaxing, but it also requires patience. It's a great activity for children to focus and exercise motor skills. My son loves creating Lego figures.
Best regards!
Children love it...so do big children like me.
Is that the kind of knockoff brand where the ERA causes friendly casualties?
Always found it weird that you could buy Lego war machines from Star Wars universe but not this universe. We built them anyways, just had to improvise the instructions.
There's always casualties, sometimes friendly.
Yeah, we did the same and making our own was more interesting sometimes but for sure it doesn't make sense for them to be so hypocritical. I guess they don't want to offend anyone and in doing so they offend people.
Coincidentally, my son and I spent about 4 hours at our local Lego hobby shop this weekend. There is something soothing about building Legos.
I'll be interested to see the finished product of the tank if you post any pictures. We bought some knock-off SWAT and SEAL minifigures from Aliexpress a few years ago. They were fun to build with all the accessories (NVG, knife, etc).
I'll probably post some images at some stage. I haven't started building it yet, maybe this weekend. I've been away for work again (a lot of travel in my job - but no I'm not President Trump).
I agree about the soothing nature of building Lego. I do Lego Technic sets, the big ones, and really enjoy it.
I'll be out for a bike ride Saturday, fairly long one, and so Sunday...yeah, probably building the army tank.
Brings up memories talking about Lego... I remember when Lego Technik came out, with suspensions on cars and all that. That was awesome. My parents hated it due to the price. And the parts lying around. We had Duplo, too, mainly cowboy stuff. They did have weapons. Even an electric train.
What we most had were Siku. They build agriculture machines in miniature. I think the collection is still in mom's basement, I'll check when we go for Christmas. That must be worth a fortune now. My godfather has a big farm in east Germany, and he always got the latest models for free. We played farming with them for hours.
Yep, I grew up with Lego, second hand Lego usually as my parents weren't very financially well to-do. I now build Lego Technic, some of which costs me $1000 and more but I don't care; no second hand stuff these days and I rarely even think about the cost. I've worked hard enough for it and to put myself in this position...and I thank my parents for helping raise me to be the man who works hard, builds knowledge and uses that to furnish himself with a comfortable life and future. So...second hand Lego taught me many lessons.
Anyway, I'd be interested in hearing if that collection is still there, could be a good post in it.
Isn't it awesome to finally be able to afford one's hobbies and not having to scrape the cents together for it anymore? I love it.
And yes, I'll see what memories I can find at home. My mom is moving, and I'll help her while we're there, so there some treasures will turn up. Probably more than just one post...
In the Siku machines, there was the Claas Lexion 460, a milestone in harvesting technique (or so I was told). My godfather got one, and gifted me the Siku version for Christmas. My brother got so jealous that he ran out screaming.
Did they stop making the castle and space sets too? Those always had all kinds of swords and weapons and laser guns. Especially those old space sets were some of the most creative I have ever seen. I know what you mean about the quality and precision not being quite as good with other brands.
I'm not sure, only buy Lego Technic and ignore the rest.
The old Tyco bricks were better than Lego. I'll die on this hill.
Nah.
