"We don't even have enough time to say we don't have enough time," says Stacey. "But it really looks like we don't have enough time." Stacey is now looking at her real cell phone in her other hand. "I set an alert if there's any news regarding Jerald Vilt. It turns out he's back and he's, naturally, taking advantage of the buzz to do an impromptu pre-sale."
Jim looks at her with concern. "I thought we had until the ICO to figure this out."
"He's going to do the pre-sale in an hour," says Stacey.
"So even if we do figure it out, it will likely be too late to get it to all the potential sellers in time," says Jim.
"Yes," says Stacey, looking away, "that is indeed something we could do with the information if we had enough time." She looks at Jim. "Regardless, we have so little time."
"Where was he?" says Jim. "Did he explain what the video was about? Was it a joke, was it a hack, was it serious?"
"He's not saying, not about any of it," says Stacey.
"Of course, this new information could be faked too," says Jim. "If it's on social media, and they got past his accounts' multi-factor authentication the first time..."
"Except," says Tullus, "almost none of the major social media platforms use MFA."
"They don't?" asks Jim.
"I know that," says Tullus, "and I don't even have a social media account."
"Regardless," says Stacey, "this is legit. Yes, he announced it on social media. But he also just did a real-life press conference. During which he refused to take questions and only talked about how great FutureCoin is and his upcoming pre-sale."
"But--" says Jim.
"I suggest," says Tullus, interrupting, "if we really have little time, that each of you watch the Logg regarding the exploit from a single perspective. It'll go faster than if you try to listen to all voices and thoughts."
"Perspective?" asks Jim.
"Yes," says Tullus, "you can watch from a third-person, like you did the first time. You can also watch from the perspective of anyone involved. In a first-person perspective, you hear the thoughts of that person, and you hear all voices, except when the thoughts overlap with a voice, then you just hear that person's thought. It goes faster."
"Fine," says Stacey. "Tullus have you got an extractor?" Tullus pulls one out. "Good, you watch from third-person, I'll watch from Tullus' view, and Jim, you watch from Suleman's."
Stacey puts away her cell phone. Tullus puts in his earpieces. She looks at the Extractor device. Jim and Tullus do the same. All three are sitting in the lobby, apparently looking at cell phones.
Jim suddenly finds himself looking at Tullus, who is walking in through a door, but he's now in the room from before, possibly on a different day. Further, he can't look away. He's not sure, but it seems like he's behind the wooden desk. He finds it disconcerting that he can't look around the area. Even when one watches a film, one at least gets to look at different areas of the screen.
What the fuck does he want now, thinks Suleman. Jim is a little surprised by the cursing.
"Larry, my man," says Suleman. "Good to see you!" Fuck, I don't want to fucking deal with this. Suleman is clearly looking over Tullus, he focuses in on his red bow tie and brown suspenders and then looks to the ceiling briefly. He dresses like the fucking nutty professor. The old one with fucking what's-his-face, the MS telethon guy, Jerry Lee Lewis.
"--got to tell you," says Tullus. The beginning of his sentence was inaudible because of Suleman's thoughts.
"Oh, of course," says Suleman, "I got all the time for you, nutty--I mean--Larry." Tullus speaks inaudibly. I hope he didn't get that, I don't think he did. I don't fucking care if he did. I can't wait to be done with this.
"--an exploit that--" continues Tullus.
Will this affect me? Why doesn't he just fucking start with whether this will affect me? I got things to do, money to make, if I don't make money, I'm losing money, and that means he's making me lose money, what the fuck... I think he's stopped talking. "Woah, woah, hold up buddy. What's this, does this affect m--does this affect us?"
Tullus stops and thinks.
Hurry the fuck up, thinks Suleman.
Tullus speaks, "No, I guess not. I already removed the documentation from the internet. I did that before I even came in here. Further, no one knows about your involvement yet. But we'll have to draft a new whitepaper and technical documents without that flaw."
"A whole new whitepaper and everything else?!" exclaims Suleman.
"Yes, because all anyone would need to do is--"
Suleman looks down at his hands which are clenched into fists and hidden by the desk from Tullus' view. What the fuck, who cares about a fucking exploit, I don't care if the damn thing doesn't work at all, as long as I get my money.
"--and, anyway, it's a blessing in disguise, because there are a lot more improvements I wanted to make. For example, in the new version I can also add a few features I wanted like--"
Oh, my fucking lord, I am going to motherfucking defenestrate him, while still holding onto those goofy fucking suspenders, then wrap them around his neck so he suffocates as he dangles outside my window. He looks down at his hands, and releases them and moves his fingers. No, I can't do that, I'd be throwing my money out the window too. As much as I fucking hate this dork, I still need him. But I clearly have every right to fuck him over once I'm done with him for this. I was thinking of leaving him some of the Logg, you know, if I made a really huge amount of money. Maybe. But this is fucking too much. Fuck this guy.
"--and that will also make it so a similar exploit won't appear down the road."
"Larry," says Suleman, chuckling, looking down at his clenched fists. Motherfucking fucker fuckface fuck-fuck. Looking up again. "I guess it all worked out for the best after all!" Fuck.
