They'd spent the night doing laundry at the 24 hour laundromat. By himself the task wouldn't have taken as long. Yet admittedly, it wouldn't have been as entertaining. Being somewhat of a loner, he didn't mind the company.
The night had been spent conversing and sharing stories with the laundromat attendant named Doug. Who was native to Rhode Island, and had plenty of fun stories to share. It also included a trip to McDonald's. Followed by a trip to the 7eleven. Doug had smoked his last cigarette while conversing with them, and they decided to pick up a pack.
After a quick search of the store, while looking for her misplaced phone. The laundry was done, and loaded into the car. They once again said goodbye to Doug, and began to drive home. The sun had begun to rise, and she was now attempting to take pictures of the sky. A few curses slipped as she struggled with her phone. For it had clearly seem better days. The cracked screen being a testament of its struggle.
Seeing an opportunity to take some wonderful pictures for his blog. He quickly made his way through the city. Stopping occasionally to take few pictures along the way. He had recently discovered a small park, that had a wonderful view of the city. It was now his destination
Unable to use his GPS, thanks to his overpriced phone company, Verizon. He made his way through the streets using his memory as a guide. Feeling the urge to rush to the park. He reminded himself to slow down. Not wanting to miss a good photo opportunity, while chasing a perceived opportunity. Thereby occasionally stopping to take few photos on the way.
Upon arriving, and after fighting a rose bush. Who seemingly refused to share one of its bright yellow roses with them. They quickly walked over to the park, and began taking pictures. He'd recently discovered the park, so he already had in mind what shots he wanted to take. Yet while talking them he found himself taking a step back mentally. The view was beautiful, and the moment was genuinely rare for him.
Glancing over to his friend. He saw her diligently focused on the task at hand.
He couldn't help but smile, as she remembered her tattered phone. "I wonder how the pictures will turn out.", he thought to himself. He thought it would be neat, to take a few pictures of her. Taking the pictures. The thought being, it might make a cool side by side.
As they headed back to his car. He asked her," did you get some good shots?". She smirked and said, "Yup". She then proudly presented her phone, and began to scroll through the pictures. As she scrolled through her pictures. He couldn't help laugh.
