It's been a week since the word Maynia was yelled across the @freewritehouse. In this first week eight people declared their intentions to join in on some Manic Maynia and two people confirmed that they plan to be Manic Fans for our Manic Writers. π

A Recap:
Maynia is a month-long writing challenge in which aspiring writers try to write 50,000 words towards a complete story by the end of May. The daily goal is approximately 1613 words, though you can do more or less each day as long as you reach the golden 50,000 mark.
Each day a writing prompt will be posted; it could be a word or an image -- something to inspire you and further your story.
In previous Madness rounds, that prompt would be @mariannewest's daily #freewrite prompt. This time the prompt will be different. You might even want to use both! It's up to you. You may not want to use the prompt at all -- that's okay too. It's completely optional.

How to Join In:
Just leave a comment letting us know you want to join in the writing fun and you'll be added to the spreadsheet!
When May the 1st arrives, check the @freewritehouse for the daily prompt post.
I'm aiming to post at 12:00am AEST -- 7:00am PDT -- each day.
As a result of timezones, Day #1 may be April 30th for some and May 1st for others.
Write, write, write!
On each daily post leave a comment with your word-total for that day. The count will be added to the spreadsheet.
Feel free to write posts detailing your writing experience, sharing excerpts of your progress, or even sharing your rough draft if you so desire. If you write a post, please use the #Maynia tag so we can find it easily and upvote it!
Ending May 31; results will be posted first week of June.

@jeanlucsr has thrown an extra 50 HIVE into the pot so we now have 150 HIVE to be split amongst all successful Manic Writers (it's harder than it seems -- last time we had 2 winners out of 14 entrants!)

Ooh, May is a week away... instead of finishing any of a number of unfinished stories, should I start anew?
Quarantine is too much like so many dystopian novels, I have no desire to revisit THAT one....
but it could be a great plot device for someone held hostage in a psycho's basement. (Maybe.)
I may be planning on using something similar to our current pandemic in Maynia's upcoming Joey and Jenny story. π Might as well use this experience, while it's fresh and ongoing, to fuel some creativity.
Yes, only a week to gooo! π I should be working on my life-long masterpiece, I really should... but something like Maynia calls for some Joey and Jenny instead.
