Hoy les hablaré del Área recreativa Manuel González Capón, donde puedes hacer ejercicio, sentarte a ver el paisaje, tomar algo en el bar, bañarte en la piscina o río, jugar en las canchas o preparar una parrilla.
Today I will tell you about the Manuel González Capón Recreational Area, where you can exercise, sit and watch the landscape, have a drink at the bar, swim in the pool or river, play on the courts or prepare a barbecue.
Esta Área recreativa está ubicado en el Ayuntamiento de Baralla, Lugo. El nombre actual, se debe al exalcalde del pueblo, muy querido por los vecinos: Manuel González Capón, quien ejerció el cargo durante 32 años, hasta su fallecimiento en el año 2019.
This recreational area is located in the municipality of Baralla, Lugo. The current name, is due to the former mayor of the municipality, very dear to the neighbors: Manuel González Capón, who held office for 32 years, until his death in 2019.
Entrada principal y estacionamiento/Main entrance and parking
Tiene estacionamiento gratuito en la entrada principal y en el área de las caravanas. Puedes dejar la bicicleta y hay estacionamiento para personas con discapacidad que presenten movilidad reducida (área pintada de azul).
There is free parking at the main entrance and in the caravan area. You can leave your bicycle and there is parking for disabled people with reduced mobility (blue painted area).
Por aquí pasa otra vía del Camino de Santiago llamada: Vía Küning (debe su nombre al monje alemán Hermann Künig), quien escribió una guía de peregrinos medieval en el año 1495.
Another route of the Camino de Santiago passes through here: Via Küning (named after the German monk Hermann Künig), who wrote a medieval pilgrim's guide in 1495.
La vía Künig discurre por territorio más llano a través de los municipios de Pedrafita, As Nogais, Becerreá, Baralla pasando por el puente medieval de Senra, O Corgo y Lugo. A partir de la ciudad de Lugo enlaza con el Camino Primitivo hasta Santiago de Compostela. Por esto, es también habitual ver peregrinos en el parque y en el pueblo.
The Künig Way runs through flatter territory through the municipalities of Pedrafita, As Nogais, Becerreá, Baralla passing through the medieval bridge of Senra, O Corgo and Lugo. From the city of Lugo it links with the Primitive Way to Santiago de Compostela. For this reason, it is also common to see pilgrims in the park and in the village.

Al entrar, del lado izquierdo está la caminería, máquinas para hacer ejercicio, parque infantil y el Río Neira, donde te puedes dar un baño. El agua es fría y es refrescante en época de verano. Al salir, puedes tomar el sol en las áreas verdes frente al río.
Upon entering, on the left side is the walkway, exercise machines, playground and the Neira River, where you can take a swim. The water is cold and refreshing in summer. On the way out, you can sunbathe in the green areas in front of the river.

Del otro lado, está la piscina de adultos y una mini piscina para los niños, el Bar Piscina, canchas y el área de parrilleras.
On the other side, there is a swimming pool for adults and a mini pool for children, the Pool bar, courts and the barbecue area.
En la piscina, los visitantes pagan 2 euros desde los 15 años y 1 euro los menores de esa edad. Para los residentes del pueblo es gratis.
At the swimming pool, visitors pay 2 euros from 15 years old and 1 euro for children under that age. For the residents of the village it is free.
Cuenta con vestidores, duchas, bar donde hay helados, chuches, bebidas y un área para tomar el sol.
It has dressing rooms, showers, a bar with ice cream, sweets, drinks and a sunbathing area.
El horario del Bar y de la piscina es de 1:00 de la tarde hasta la media noche.
Bar and pool hours are from 1:00 p.m. to midnight.

En esta época, el pueblo se llena de vida por los turistas e hicimos una parrilla con los vecinos que vienen a disfrutar del verano. Al frente de las parrilleras, hay unas mesas de cemento donde puedes compartir con familiares y amigos.
At this time of the year, the town is full of life because of the tourists and we made a barbecue with the neighbors who come to enjoy the summer. In front of the grills, there are some cement tables where you can share with family and friends.

Si el plan es venir en caravana, detrás de la cancha de Pádel, hay un espacio con 16 puestos, donde tienen agua, electricidad e iluminación para que pernocten y continúen el paseo.
If the plan is to come in a caravan, behind the paddle tennis court, there is a space with 16 stalls, where there is water, electricity and lighting to spend the night and continue the tour.

Yo camino el parque desde la parte final y casi siempre hay vacas pastando en un área que pertenece a ganaderos. Continúo y ya se escucha el sonido del río y el verde paisaje hasta llegar al área de la piscina. Doy la vuelta y hago una hora de caminata.
I walk along it from the end and there are almost always cows grazing in an area that belongs to cattle ranchers. I continue and you can already hear the sound of the river and the green landscape until I reach the pool area. I turn around and walk for an hour.
