I'm guessing someone has been watching Masters of the Air recently? :) If not, you should. Oh man, I am having all the flashbacks to those DeFi platforms popping up here and there. All the same frontend, but with different names. I think they used up every big cat name in the book on those!

Such a good show! I've been waiting for a good show like this for a while so it's a very welcomed addition.

I totally agree. I just wish we didn't have to wait for the next episode to come out!

agreed, I normally wait until all episodes are out before I start watching.

Same, I got too excited though and couldn't wait!

I have no idea what that is :D

This post idea has been sitting in my notepad for months.

You should watch it. It's good stuff so far. It's about American Bombers in WWII. It was produced by the same people that did Band of Brothers.

The DeFi one was especially terrible. Horrible tokenomics that favoured gambling and getting out as early as possible more than use-case and longevity. CUB was on the right path with its Kingdoms paying out some BNB but it never caught on.

Great writeup

Its probably a good idea to read a Cliffs notes version of Logic listing the most common ones of these that we suffer from, just to keep us out of trouble.
?Bookmarks where are you when I need you.
Tagging myself #shortsegments will have to do.

Millitary history is full of examples of major blunders being caused by survivorship bias and the idea that what worked before would certainly work again. Like carnage in US Civil War being caused by commanders of both sides using Napoleonic era tactics based on tight formations and massive infantry charges or French before WW2 believing that they would stop Germans if they simply build massive and seemingly impenetrable line of field fortifications, like the trenches of WW1.

We see all sorts of bias all over on a daily basis ;)

And it's pretty funny eventually.

No. I reckon seeing what's in front of you despite the textbooks and statistics, and sans personal unconscious bias is... well... seeing what's in front of you! Geesh.

The tricky part is getting the unconscious outta the way. Makes for quicker learning, clearer and more fortunate decisions and probably less loss then. You'd think folks would be more up for doing the work, huh? :D

Always enjoy your posts.
