In this specific showcase episode, I wanted to talk about the extension of my previous few posts where we compared cheap and expensive cards. In todays episode I want to focus on the rare cards. I think the we have now reached a point where we can afford almost every card. The question is now, do we really need to buy these cards or can we somehow determine which ones are the better ones to buy. This is why we will go through the different levels of price range and talk about how each price range is composed. After that we will discuss the possibilities of buying these cards and whether it makes sense or not. Cheap Vs Expensive – Rare Cards!
Like always, we should start off with the cheapest cards here. These are usually around 0.04 USD mark so pretty cheap if you ask me. But as always with cheap cards, there is a reason for that. In this particular case, these cards are once again prior reward cards that were just distributed to a lot of people. On top of that their stats or abilities are just not that desirable. Nevertheless, there are enough great cards to add to your starter deck that can make an immediate impact such as the Venari Chrytalsmith. Another very great card that I personally like to use is the Wavesmith who is just a perfect addition to any Water Deck at the moment.
Moving on to the middle section of the price range, we are reaching the very interesting area. As summoners are rare cards a lot of the times, we are starting to see some of those in this section. One of the cards that I really love to use is Obsidian. This summoner is just a great addition to the Earth Splinter and will help you win or at least increase your average win rate. On top of that there are some interesting cards from previous generations that are worth considering. Not only do they have interesting Abilities but might be considered good investments for the future, because their availability will not get greater over time.
Last but not least, we have the crème de la crème in this section. The most expensive cards! With the top range of 12 USD. Now to be honest this does not sound like a lot, but lets consider if you want to spend this amount of money on one card if you could have 10 or 20 cards instead. Well, anyways, I think that the most interesting cards here are Alric as Magic Water summoner who has the potential of being the best summoner in the game. I remember whenever I was starting off, the combination between him and Djinn Oshannus was just deadly. Another very interesting card in my opinion is Cerberus. This card is a perfect low mana tank with the self heal ability which is very difficult to beat!
All in all, I think that the rare cards are a great way to start to improve the deck. I would personally start to get the summoner of your choice and try to level this card up as this will determine the max level of all your other cards. Furthermore, I would specifically focus on this one splinter and develop the deck from there by improving the cheap cards first.
