Let's talk .. social!
We are already in a social media platform (LeoFinance) so I am sure you know what we are talking about :)
Why are we here? I am sure that everyone of us has their own reasons, they can vary from .. getting social, meet new people, enjoy my time, express myself while at the same time earn a little bit (remember that we are at a blockchain based social media - that we can monetize every social action of ours!)
There are so many different social media channels, so how do we choose which one to join? How do we choose where to give our time?
This is something that we will discuss a lot in the future, this time I will let you know shortly about my journey with Instagram.
2010 (more or less)
I was very young back then (don't ask me how old :P)
The facebook etc were sooo popular among my friends and acquaintances - They would be posting photos of theirs, where they were, what they were doing etc etc..
I hated anything that had to do with social media. I did not wish to become a part of it.
But I realized that .. if people like it, if people are joining it ... then of course .. BUSINESSES should be join, right?
A business should be where their customer is
So I was working at a hotel back then and I was the first one to create a Facebook page for the hotel.
(It was the first in the city & in the island I think)
2013-2014
It was approximately 4 years since Instagram had been launched. In 2014, it already have a little bit less than 200 million users and I was very impressed by its dynamic, by the fact that your photo could ... literally be in someone's hand and of course I saw it business wise - I then asked my boss to create an Instagram account for his business.
To keep the story short, he said "Sure, but please do it at your spare time"

So I did.
I also created an account for myself - but just to see who this whole thing works!
This was my first ever post on a social media platform.
2014-2018
I spent a lot of time learning about social media, watched seminars, trying out several platforms and doing my best to grow my bosses' businesses.
And then a little voice in my head came to remind me that ...
"Why not grow yourself and your own business?"
So that is what I decided. I thought it over and came up with a few ideas. Not everything has worked out, but everything came with a valuable lesson for me.
At the end of 2018 I discovered blockchain and this is when a very important idea was born. To create an account for my city. I did, I gave my city a character, I started first of all learning about it and at the same time discussing and posting about it in social media.

2020
At the moment, I am still building it - I am still working on it (in my spare time, lol)
It has a website, social media accounts and above all, a lovely community and friends all over the world

From all the social media platforms, I say that Instagram is my more visited, more powerful and strongest.
Why?
Because I devoted time into learning how it works, into creating something real, genuine and authentic.
I will take you later in the journey of how I reached this number of friends. I am sure that you know that for Instagram, a very important benchmark is 10K followers ..
So, having specific and measurable goals helps a lot into achieving anything you aim for.
At the moment there are many accounts out there with hundreds of thousands of followers, almost all of them started out early and made the best out of this means of communication.
I understood the capabilities but my efforts' results were enjoyed by others. My hours of work had no results for me, but only for my (at the time) bosses.
So, until my next post - I have some questions for you :)

Έχεις κάνει φοβερή δουλειά στο instagram!
Εγώ πάλι, όπως έγραψα πριν μερικές μέρες, είμαι παλαιάς κοπής φωτογράφος και μάλιστα από αυτούς που αρνήθηκαν να δεχτούν ότι οι εποχές (και το επάγγελμα τους) άλλαζαν ριζικά και τελεσίδικα με την ψηφιακή τεχνολογία!
Τέλος πάντων, ο λόγος που σου απαντάω είναι ότι πριν 4 μέρες ξεκίνησα ένα λογαριασμό στο instagram θεωρώντας ότι είναι απαραίτητο αν θέλω να ξαναασχοληθώ σοβαρά με τη φωτογραφία, αλλά βέβαια είναι ένας θαυμαστός, καινούργιος κόσμος για τον οποίο δεν έχω ιδέα :)
Προς το παρρόν απλά προσπαθώ να καταλάβω πως λειτουργεί το σύστημα και πως θα προχωρήσω. Οπότε κάθε συμβουλή, δεκτή!
A minimum requirement is that it needs to be a part of Web 3.0 and have the ability to reward users.

Lol, I will share my secrets! (Well not the dirty ones)
Are you planning on having insta at some point?
Do you use appics or something?
i want to do an insta but because i am a little weird i want to "conduct" an experiment by doing so. imagine that in my fb account i got 5-6 photos that are old random ones and when i say old my profile is 4-5 years ago :P and the others even more. Also i don't post anything :P
So a lot of my friends are saying make an instagram and i got plenty of photos from trips but when i create one i wanna have a more "serious" approach. Way better photos, try to sell myself etc etc and the experiment would be how to people will react to it compared to fb
but i know nothing and because of that i think i will take a lot of time :P so any secrets or tips on what works best or anything else will save my a lot of trouble and might even convince me to create one now :P
The question I wish to ask, and you can respond also privately is .. why do your friend ask you to make an insta?
To share private photos? To communicate with them?
Or to show/sell something?
It will take lots of your time to make it grow and to make it fulfill your expectations (depending also on your specific goals - and targets)
To me, if you need to say something to the people who are on Instagram (and trust me, there are many real people out there), then do it.
If you do not have that time to devote, and you do not have a set goal - do it, but just for fun and experiment as you say.
(unless you can use that time for something more fun/productive)
το λενε ποιο πολυ απο αποψη πλεον ολοι εχουν insta κ το χρησιμοποιουν ποιο πολυ απο fb + οτι θες να δεις θα το βρεις κ θα το δεις πιο ευκολα απο εκει απο οτι μεσω αλλων social media το οποιο εχει οντως point. Απο την αλλη ο μονος λογος π ειχα φτιαξει το fb ειναι για να επικοινωνω πιο ευκολα με φιλους, ουτε ανεβαζω φωτο ουτε καν κανω like :P
εγω αυτο π θελω να κανω επειδη εχω μια ταση να μ αρεσει ετσι η ψυχολογια ,πως επηρεαζεται ο καθενας απο διαφορα κτλ κτλ ηταν/ειναι να φτιαξω ενα profile δικο μου, χωρις να πουλαω κατι η να χω κατι να πω απλα να ειναι πολυ προσεγμενο γυρω απο μενα. Δηλαδη το ακριβως αντιθετο απο οτι ειναι το fb κ αντιστοιχα θελω να δω την "ανταποκριση του κοσμου"
εχω παει πχ διαφορα ταξιδια εξωτερικο δν εχω ανεβασει ουτε μια φωτο αλλα εχω πανω απο 1000. Ποσο αυτο θα επηρεασει την "εικονα μου" προς τα εξω σε συγκριση με την τωρινη? ποσο ευκολα το "image" κ η αποψη καποιου ανεβαινει 'η κατεβαινει στα ματια καποιου αλλου μονο απο ενα profile? (τις απαντησεις πανω κατι τις ξερουμε :p) αλλα θελω να το δω κ να βιωσω κ πανω μου.
Απο την αλλη επειδη δν ειμαι τετοιος τυπος κ ειναι καθαρα απο περιεργεια για να κανω την συγκριση βαριεμαι κ μονο σε σκεψη την ολη διαδικασια κ χρονο π πρεπει να αφιερωσω ειδικα απο την στιγμη π δν εχω ιδεα :P

Καταρχήν υπάρχουν πολλοί travelers που ανεβάζουν original content στο ινστα. Μιλάμε για αξιολογα παιδιά, ανεβάζουν φωτος/τιπς/καμιά φορά βίντεο κλπ ... Αρα καταρχήν υπάρχει το community ήδη που μπορεί να σε δεχθεί και πέρα απο αυτό, να ανακαλύψεις κι εσύ άλλους που είτε έχουν πάει σε μέρη που έχεις πάει - είτε να έχουν πάει σε μέρη που θέλεις να πας
Εχω να σου προτείνω να το ξεκινήσεις για χαβαλέ - ότι ποστάρεις να το ανεβάζεις και appics και ίσως και travelfeed εδώ. Στην πορεία ίσως να βρεις τρόπο να το αξιοποιήσεις και για οικονομικούς λόγους :)

Although I have been following your Instagram account for a long time, I did not know that you have reached 12k followers. Congratulations.
Instagram is a very important advertising tool but unfortunately 90% of its users use it to promote a fake world where there is only beauty, high aesthetics and luxury. Many times it can create the illusion in users that if someone is not handsome, perfect and rich he does not really deserve attention.
Young girls are looking for prince charmy and young boys are looking for the hot chick that their eyes has used to see on instagram. But most of what we see on Instagram is fake. User photos with perfect face, perfect skin and perfect life. Makeup filters and specific poses make the user live in a second fake world which is very sad.
On the other hand tik tok which is the new trend in social media lately, I think is way better. People having fun, socializing and showing who they really are because in a video it is more difficult to hide yous "flaws". Most of its users are being their selves and enjoy socialize with people that they like them for what they really are.
Crypto social media are not widespread yet and most of the people who are using them, do it for the earnings.
My favorite platform so far is whaleshares. It is indeed decentralized and I enjoy the tipping system although I used to hate it when it started.
Yesterday I started using leofinance and I enjoyed the engagement that my post had. I don't know if this will continue happening at my upcoming posts but I really liked and I didn't look at my posts earnings at all.
So if we stop thinking about earnings, our experience will change. We will vote for posts that we really like and our engagement level will increase. As a result we will enjoy spending our time at crypto social media, and we will grow faster. Most of the user that are coming to hive, do it because someone show them the trending page and they came thinking that they will earn money very quickly. I think we must find a different approach to persuade users to sign up at hive because people leave very quickly if they do not achieve to gain big rewards. If the rewards were not visible I think hive could have huge potentials.
I agree that Instagram has many superficial users and that it promotes luxury living, but not to a 90% extent.
To me, it is a very important tool/means of communication to many people using it.
Regarding the account of my city - I could not handle the fact that all other major cities of Crete had city accounts with thousands of followers and all major accounts (100K+) posting about Greece - would not share images of my city.
Well, they still dont, but at least I am there to post the ones that are more representative
I applaud tiktok, they had this amazing idea and their developers are doing an amazing job - making everything super user friendly - so anyone (even 13 year old kids) can enter and create content
Not that I agree with 13 year old having social media, but it is a reality
User friendliness is what the platforms need to work on for mass adoption. I have not been active in whaleshares because I did not understand how it was working after some time and I got absolutely lost
(If anyone has the time, I would gladly take a short/quick lesson :))
Reg. Instagram, I am now active with my personal account - I enjoy it, I can post more than one photos on a daily basis (something that I cannot do with blockchain social media because it would be like .. milking the chain) and it helps me express my self plus get to know many other photographers with similar interests from all over the world.
The issue is that the more people there are 'friends'/'following' etc, the more time you need to spend with them - so you need to know your limits and to have specific goals (even if it is just for fun)
I disagree with hiding the rewards from hive, but I believe that communities are a great asset and they need to be worked on separately / bringing new users for becoming a part of something they love (i.e. sketch, music, photography, blogging, science etc)
